Borderlands 2 ' Sir Hammerlock's Big Game Hunt' DLC revealed

Third wave of DLC for Gearbox's shooter landing January 15 for Xbox 360, PS3, and PC; adds new Aegrus zone, does not raise level cap.

by

The third batch of downloadable content for Borderlands 2 has been revealed. Due out January 15 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC will be Sir Hammerlock's Big Game Hunt. It follows Captain Scarlett and Her Captain's Booty and Mr. Torgue's Campaign of Carnage.

Sir Hammerlock's Big Game Hunt is included with the $30 Borderlands 2 Season Pass and will be available for others at $10. The content adds a new zone called Aegrus, as well as new areas to explore like Savage Lands, Lodge, and Scylla's Grove. It also brings new unique and legendary weapons and loot.

Sir Hammerlock's Big Game Hunt takes place just after the end of Borderlands 2, and pits players against a new villain named Professor Nakayama. Gamers will also battle new creatures in the content including Wetland Drifters, Spores, Armored Boroks, Scaylions, Scaylion Queens, Savage Warriors, Witch Doctors, and a new team raid boss called the Seraph Guardian.

For more on Sir Hammerlock's Big Game Hunt, check out a walkthrough of the content with Gearbox Software public relations marketing manager Adam Fletcher embedded below.

Also the new raid boss will be a seraph guardian called veracidus the invincible, this review was pretty crappy since the only real reskinned creature is the borok, which is basically an armored stalker.

Level cap is coming somewhere between January and march, and will be added as an update not in a season pass or as dlc you have to pay for, they're taking longer because apparently they're trying to do something unique, as far as I know.

I don't think I'm gonna play this until the level cap is raised.

I find not much reason to play after you've hit the level cap. No more enjoyment for me, haven't bought any of the dlc.

the story to the dlc is to do loads of f***ing side missions for Sir Hammerlock lol!  2 words - BURN OUT.

Though I still did not buy Borderlands 2 since its launch, I know for sure Devs will put this game out as a GAME OF THE YEAR sort of edition with about 4DLCs as the previous borders! I really love this game, but it is better to wait a little bit and buy full version for the same price as the original lone Bors2!

I'm looking forward to this one.  The first two have both been very good, in line with the quality of the story-driven DLC packs for the first game.  I don't really care about the level cap; I can't hit the level cap during first playthrough, ensuring a steady progression all the way through the entire game the first time through, and tend to start anew with a different class afterwards, so I've only hit the level cap with one character, and played through the game once with three others.

Looks pretty good I can't say I've been impressed with the last two DLCs but if you live on this planet you might as well play borderlands before your life passes you up.

i don't look forward to this The 2nd dlc Torgue's campaign of carnage was 4 GB and it didn't took me 3 hours to finish it! going back to borderlands 1 the zombie Island DLC was only 900 MB and it would take 4 to 6 hours ( if you had good guns and high lvl 4 hours was enough)gearbox is not really putting time on these i mean every 2 month there is a DLC out what the hell?it's like they think gamers have gold mines or something!who would pay every 2 month for the same game and 3 or 4 new missions again and again??

I was going to wait for Borderlands 2 GOTY. Of course, I did read that all the DLC was going to be on sale, so maybe then.

so u just keep adding new mission lines in the game?

allow modding and modders will do a better job then these "DLCs"

Increase the LEVEL CAP!!! I bought the Season Pass but, I don't even want to play the DLC's if I can't rank up...Oh well if only 10% of the players reached level 50. Increasing the level cap won't hurt anything and it allows all players to enjoy the game.

Too many of these "dlc". It adds ANOTHER new boss. Whoopty doo......

i believe the reason behind no level increase to be that Randy Pitchford said only 10% or so of all players has reached level 50. I know die hards have all characters capped out already but it makes sense to not raise level cap if so little people have made it.

Good thing I purposely didn't cap my characters.  Two are in the early 40's after enjoying both DLC's and they still have the rest of Vault Hunter mode to go through.  So I'll be having fun.

fine with me, I have a lot of games to play, and this will basically just give me a full game, cause I'm not buying any of these DLC's until they give me a level cap boost, so I'll play all these DLC's in a row, people need to relax, it's not the end of the world, it will come

can't believe I wasted money on the season pass.... this is garbage, not playing it until level cap is increased - DO IT ALREADY GEARBOX!

AI will stand there like a 'broad side of a barn' , require workman like use all of your ammo to do any damage, AI will spawn indefinitely out of the ground, Leveling up,, you will get weaker and die in one shot,,...and all of the loot will be useless....NO THANKS.. I sold my copies ..

This DLC is still useless and so is the Season pass.

After hitting level 50 there is little incentive to keep playing the game. I don't understand what's the big deal with not raising the level cap

@Alpr1010 My thoughts exactly.  Most people who have taken the time to reach the current level cap have also taken the time to acquire the best weapons...not sure why each DLC didn't do like a 5/7 level cap increase.  Show me a 20 level cap raise and a huge General Knoxx type DLC from BL1 and I'm all in for the 4th release.

@Sp3ncerK But then they wouldn't be able to drip-sell you content at $10 a pop.

@JohnnyShhlong I get the feeling Gearbox is gonna be shady and wait till after the season pass DLCs are done to raise the lvl cap

hector530

@translucent17 and prepare to bitch more because it says the lvl cap is still isn't ready and worst yet it can come as a DLC or in a season 2 pass

@PeterDuck Agreed. I did like Borderlands 2, but after I beat it, I just sold the game. So far, I'm not really regretting it, because these DLC's just don't seem that appealing.
