Konami has today released the first information on Boktai 2: Solar Boy Django for the Game Boy Advance. Currently scheduled for release in September, the game will see you reprising the role of Django the Solar Boy, a vampire and demon hunter who draws power from sunlight.

Like its predecessor, Boktai 2 will feature a built-in solar sensor and, as such, will be best played in sunlight. Playing in natural light not only will power up your 60-plus weapons this time around, but will also allow you to fuse different types of weapons to create an even more formidable arsenal for yourself. Your enemies in Boktai 2 will purportedly be a lot tougher than those in the original game, ensuring that sunlight is often a necessity rather than a luxury if you wish to progress. Konami has also stated that the game will incorporate more role-playing elements than its predecessor, although it's not yet clear in what way these will be implemented.

In addition to the story-driven single-player mode, Boktai 2 will feature competitive multiplayer support for up to four players. Details on the multiplayer gameplay are scarce at present, but it will basically involve the four of you battling it out to determine which of you is the ultimate vampire hunter.

At the time of writing Konami hasn't confirmed whether or not Boktai 2: Solar Boy Django will be playable at E3, but we'll bring you more information on the game as soon as it becomes available.
