Users who adopt a Cinder Kitten when the pet becomes available in the Blizzard Store later this year will be donating to the Red Cross Disaster Relief for its Hurricane Sandy Response effort.

The fund helps to provide shelter, food, and support to those affected by Hurricane Sandy, the largest Atlantic hurricane on record that ravaged parts of north-eastern United States only weeks ago.

Cinder Kitten will cost users a $10 adoption fee. Details about when and how users can purchase the pet will be announced by Blizzard in the coming weeks.

In August last year, Blizzard raised $1.9 million for Japan's earthquake relief effort with another in-game pet, the Cenarion Hatchling.
