Blizzard not looking into Hearthstone for Xbox One and PS4

Blizzard is prioritising the Android version of Hearthstone, but might look into a console version in the future if there's enough demand.

by

Blizzard's development team for addictive collectible card game Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft aren't looking into making a console version of the game right now, but continued interest from the community might change that in the future.

"The idea of getting it onto console has come up from players," said production director Jason Chayes in an interview with Eurogamer. "It's not something we're actually looking at right now. We feel like we have our hands full in the short term with getting onto Android as soon as we can, which is kind of one of the big priorities we're looking at right now."

Hearthstone has seen a new lease of life since the release of the iPad version of the game, which was recently launched worldwide. Alongside the Android version, Blizzard is also working on its first expansion pack, Curse of Naxxramas.

But what if PS4 and Xbox One owners keep crying out for Hearthstone on their consoles? "What we've said in the past," added Chayes, "and this will continue to be the case, is that we want to be able to hear back from our community and our players what they're really interested in, what they're very passionate about."

"If getting Hearthstone onto console is something there's a huge interest in, then we'd love to hear about that so it's something we can be thinking about."

They mean if MS and Sony don't take away a lot of the profits.

Hearthstone is too much fun. Everyone should get the chance to play it.

Be cool to have it on console and all but its hard to think of a PC that wouldn't run this.

@3dmatrixgamer  Unless they implement keyboard and mouse support for X1 and PS4 I don't see this happening.

@neowarrior121  The Game is pretty good and entertaining. The learning curve is fairly simple.

A few people will say it's a "pay to win" game but I disagree with that statement especially in "Arena" mode as everybody has the opportunity to choose any card including Legendary, Epic, Rare and common.

It can sometimes be a bit of a slog to get enough gold to play an arena run or buy a pack, they cost 150 gold for arena and 100 gold for a pack of 5 cards, the game pays 10 gold for every three matches won in Arena, Ranked and Casual modes add to that the daily quests which can be worth 40, 60, or 100 gold dependant on which type of quest it is.

At the end of the day this is a free game that is worth playing, I would suggest you go and check out some of TotalBiscuits arena runs on YouTube as he plays at a decent pace so you can see what he's doing and once you get the idea then go check out someone like Trump or another pro player to see some advanced strategies.

Enjoy.

@dnathug Everyone -CAN- play it...on PC. The system requirements for the game are so low that you can play it on a 10yold computer. I'm not sure if there's a MAC version yet though.

@3dmatrixgamer @twodigitsYou got to be kidding mate. TESO is a completely dumbed down game for consoles- that means it uses only as many skills as is possible on the crippling limited gamepads.

Wow needs dozens of buttons. Its just impossible
