Blizzard has announced the launch of Sydney-based servers to support Australian and New Zealand players in its upcoming multiplayer brawler game, Heroes of the Storm.

The local game servers are currently available to participants in the technical alpha. To correspond with the launch of the servers, Blizzard has also sent out a "significant" amount of invitations to the Heroes of the Storm technical alpha for Australian and New Zealand players. Players receiving invitations will be able to see the flag upon logging in to their Battle.net account.

This would mark the second time Blizzard has launched local servers down under, the first launch coinciding with the release of Diablo III: Reaper of Souls. Blizzard has not confirmed a release date for Heroes of Storm, although the technical alpha phase kicked off in March this year.
