Black Ops 2 Apocalypse DLC to debut on MLG

MLG pros to show off latest DLC on August 24.

The final expansion for Call of Duty: Blacks Ops II--titled Apocalypse--is due for release on the Xbox 360 on August 27, but fans of the franchise can check it out early via a special MLG broadcast set for August 24, 6 p.m. EST, according to MLG.

The premiere of Apocalypse will be shown on MLG's website and Twitch channel, and will feature eight MLG pros playing from the company's New York studios. The broadcast will include interviews with Treyarch's David Vonderhaar, a look at the four Apocalypse maps, and more. Participating MLG players include Assass1n, Spacely, Mboze, Methodz, Censor, Mr X, Sectrely, and BLfire.

Apocalypse was first unveiled earlier this month, and is the fourth add-on to Call of Duty: Black Ops II. Apocalypse features four multiplayer maps, two of which--Pod and Frost--are brand new. The other two--Takeoff and Dig--are reimaginings of maps from the original Black Ops and World at War, respectively.

A new Zombies experience, called Origins, is also included with the expansion. It features the Avenged Sevenfold song "Shepherd of Fire" from the band's upcoming album Hail to the King. Origins is described as the "most horrifying and imaginative Zombies experience to date." Players are sent to a Dieselpunk-stylized World War I-era France where they will meet up with the original four heroes from the first Zombies map.

Apocalypse is due for release for the Xbox 360 on August 27 and is scheduled for the PC and PlayStation 3 about a month after its initial release.

My apologies, I thought the ridiculous gamertag would clearly indicate a joke post.

I probably play more Battlefield than I do CoD, but I'd consider CoD more fun. The only thing I don't like about Battlefield is the fact that the community talks about CoD non-stop. Just STFU already. If you don't like CoD, good for you. Why come to these articles? Why talk about CoD while playing Battlefield? You losers have made the Battlefield community the most annoying community in gaming.

@murderek While I disagree with CoD being more fun than Battlefield , I do agree that all the trolls calling themselves Battlefield-fans and badmouthing CoD have become a nuisance. I don't consider these people real fans, because real fans would spend their time playing the game they like rather than bitching and whining about one they don't. They are most likely pathetic losers with too much time on their hands. I personally feel that CoD's arena-type gameplay pales in comparison with Battlefield's scope and epic battles, but that doesn't mean I have anything against that franchise, it's just my opinion.

@murderek Myself I play both. I mainly play CoD when my kids want me to play a game with them. But when I am in the mood for some serious fun only Battlefield satisfies my gaming itch.

The games are different, some prefer one over the other, but really both deserve love in my opinion. No reason to bad mouth it. You are right instead of badmouthing the game you don't play STFU and play the game you prefer.

Now back on the expansion topic, too bad the wiiu will not be seeing this DLC. I happen to have the wiiu version and I have to say that wiiu version is better than the others in my opinion.

But whenever I  play CoD I can usually hear people pretty much talking about BF and shitting on that....

Combining so many of our favorite things - Call of Duty, DLC's, and overpaid "professional" gaming douchebags.

A truly winning combination.

Always count on GameSpot to show their never-ending love for COD. Too many articles on COD COD COD COD, they don't even make a lot of articles for Battlefield and right now that game has taken a lot of the buzz COD usually gets

@ThisIsTwoFace Blind Ignorance at it's best. Search Call of Duty and then search Battlefield. Battlefield has more posts/videos in the last 3 months than CoD does by FAR.

This is a big DLC for CoD, so it gets a page. Just like Battlefield DLC gets a page. Get over yourself.

You make us Battlefield players look stupid, please stop.

@OldDirtyCR @ThisIsTwoFace

Tell me about blind ignorance and then you demonstrate it in your own post. Big DLC for COD?

Lol - the only reason it has an article is because its for MLG

@ThisIsTwoFace @OldDirtyCR Quake had its run, Then CS, Then Halo, Now CoD. I think it's time for COD to die. I also believe that my capitalizing was overused and incorrect........Damn.

Now can you PLEASE take a break and DON'T make COD for a while? I mean really. YOU GOTTA MAKE SOMETHIN ELSE THAN COD TREYARCH.  At least make plannings to upcoming COD so you can sell more.

Pretty excited for the new zombies map, it will be good to play as the original characters again. I'm also glad they chose not to do four zombie map remakes again, would have seemed pretty pointless.

It's a shame they didn't release any DLC for Black Ops II on the Wii U. It might have sold a lot more copies had they released the DLC. Hopefully they'll release DLC for Ghosts.

Hopefully, this is the last of the DLCs and release a complete edition by the end of the year.

All the hate for COD aside, I actually thought this game is done, i mean i was thinking of getting it, but with Ghosts being around the corner i don't know what to think anymore.

thank god i never bought a COD DLC... waste of money... people should buy another game with it, or another computer, or car, or house, whatever...

It's about time MLG put some DLC maps on the circuit. They should have been doing that all along to make it more interesting. It gets old seeing the same few maps every tournament. I hope they do more of this in the future. I know the Pro guys will appreciate it too.
