Vircom Interactive has released a free downloadable beta version of its upcoming online role-playing game, Black Moon Chronicles: Winds of War. The 360MB beta can be downloaded from the official Black Moon Chronicles Web site.

Black Moon Chronicles: Winds of War is a massively multiplayer game based on the graphic novels of Francois Froideval and Olivier Ledroit. It features captions, panels, and speech balloons, along with hand-drawn art reminiscent of a graphic novel. Players will travel through a medieval fantasy universe torn by a war between four factions, each of which has different strengths, weaknesses, and characters. Players create a character from one of 12 classes, join one of the four factions, and then undertake quests and participate in raids against enemy factions.

Black Moon Chronicles: Winds of War is scheduled for release in November in two packages: a full boxed version that comes with a free six-week subscription for $34.95 and a jewel-case package that includes a free two-week subscription for $9.99. For more information, take a look at our previous coverage of the game.
