Electronic Arts has revealed that the release of Black & White has now slipped from this November to the spring of 2001. The game is the latest creation of Peter Molyneux, who designed the highly influential god sim Populous. GameSpot spoke with Anne-Marie Stein of Electronic Arts to confirm the reasons behind the delay, which was noted by Well-Rounded Entertainment earlier today. Stein said, "We wanted to give Peter [Molyneux] and his team as much time to polish and test the game as possible." Marketing as well as development reasons figured into the decision to delay the game, as EA wants to avoid releasing the game against fierce competition. The delay will impact all versions of the game, which is planned for the PC, Dreamcast, and PlayStation 2.
