BioWare's 2005 action-RPG Jade Empire launched this week for iOS devices and for Mac. The game comes to those platforms through its Special Edition.

You can buy the game for $10 right now on iTunes. According to its description, the game features "elegant" controls that were designed "from the ground up" for a smartphone. The game boasts more than 40 hours of gameplay, according to the description, while it also has achievements to unlock.

Another thing to note is that Jade Empire's iOS version is compatible with third-generation or newer iPads, the iPad Air, and second-generation or newer iPad minis. In terms of phones, you need to have an iPhone 5 or newer to run the game.

Jade Empire is now more than a decade old. Fans hoping for a sequel may want to get comfortable, as no new game in the series is in development, it seems.

But BioWare has not ruled out returning to the franchise.

"Well, there's always hope," BioWare Edmonton and Montreal general manager Aaryn Flynn said in March 2015. "Both [BioWare developers Mark Darrah and Mike Laidlaw] worked on Jade Empire, so they're advocates for it in the studio (so is Matt Goldman, DAI's Art Director). I worked on it too!"

"Our plate is awfully full right now, but the idea to go back to the universe does come up pretty regularly," he added. "Mark and I spent a solid two hours in my office talking about it not long ago..."

Jade Empire's mobile and Mac versions were made by Aspyr Media.
