Bioware is unlocking the secrets of Jade Empire, young grasshoppers. The developer today announced that a brand-new official Web site for the martial-arts-themed game is now live, with new features.

Scheduled to punch its way onto Xboxes April 14, Jade Empire takes place in a fantasy world built on ancient Chinese mythology. The game mixes role-playing elements with live-action combat and features on-the-fly changes of different combat disciplines with the flick of the D pad. Characters can choose to excel in melee-, magic-, or weapon-based martial arts.

The Jade Empire Web site details the game's features, offers downloadable wallpapers, and shows movie clips of the game in action. Gamers can also get a peek at several of the game's fighting styles through Flash movies.

The site also details information on the limited edition of Jade Empire, which is available by preorder from select retailers. The special edition comes with several added bonuses. In addition to being wrapped in a foil pack and containing a behind-the-scenes making-of Jade Empire feature, the special edition of Jade Empire has two gameplay additions: Gamers will be able to play as Monk Zeng, the bald chi-fueled warrior, and they will be able to learn the spade staff fighting style.

Jade Empire is rated M for Mature and will retail for $49.99. For more information on the game, grab the pebble out of GameSpot's hand and read some previous coverage.
