A new show from scientist and EA Origin-promoter Bill Nye will air on Netflix in 2017, the streaming giant announced today. The show has the great title of Bill Nye Saves the World.

It's a talk show that will see the scientist, who rose to popularity with the '90s TV show Bill Nye the Science Guy, speaking about all number of topics from a scientific perspective. In a news release, Netflix said Nye will do more of what he already does: dispelling myths and refuting anti-scientific claims that politicians and religious leaders might pass along as fact.

"Since the start of the Science Guy show, I've been on a mission to change the world by getting people everywhere excited about the fundamental ideas in science," Nye said in a statement. "Today, I'm excited to be working with Netflix on a new show, where we'll discuss the complex scientific issues facing us today, with episodes on vaccinations, genetically modified foods, and climate change. With the right science and good writing, we'll do our best to enlighten and entertain our audience. And, perhaps we'll change the world a little."

Bill Nye Saves the World will feature guest appearances and experiments and demonstrations. The show aims to be fair in its presentation, "ultimately [letting] the facts lead the argument," Netflix said.

Writer and comedian Mike Drucker (Saturday Night Live, The Late Show Starring Jimmy Fallon) is the show's lead comedy writer, while author and astronomer Phil Plait is the lead science writer.

Bill Nye the Science Guy ran for five seasons, from 1993 to 1998. The Emmy-winning show originally aired on PBS.
