South Peak Interactive has released new information on and screens of Big Mountain 2000 for the Nintendo 64. It will be the first N64 game to incorporate both skiing and snowboarding into one arcade-style experience. Big Mountain 2000 will feature three gameplay modes including championship series, time attack, and two-player battle. Players can take to the game's courses -- including giant slalom, slalom and free rides -- with six different racers riding six unique boards.

An interesting new feature in Big Mountain 2000 is that the racers are affected by various situations that arise during a race. For example, collisions or falls directly affect the racers, increasing or decreasing their stamina and ability. This adaptive system also takes effect race to race, as previous performances and scores increase the character's skills.

The game also includes licensed wear and boards from Solomon, Vans, and Bonfire, and will feature 15 different background music settings. Developed by Imagineer, Big Mountain 2000 will be released for the N64 in Q4 2000.
