Japanese gamers continue to gorge themselves on God Eater: Burst. For the second week in a row, Namco Bandai's monster-hunter action game on the PSP has taken top billing on Media Create's software sales charts for Japan, adding 61,834 more units to its quarter-million week-one tally.

Perhaps more impressive is the debut of Bethesda Softworks and Obsidian Entertainment's Western role-playing game Fallout: New Vegas. During its first week on the Japanese market, New Vegas sold 37,249 units on the PlayStation 3 and 24,146 copies on the Xbox 360, securing it a double-dipping fourth- and sixth-place finish. The week's other new debut, Radiant Historia on the DS, slipped in between the pair at fifth with 32,807 units sold.

Nintendo dominated much of the remainder of the chart. Super Mario All-Stars gained a spot week-over-week to secure a second place finish, followed by less than 1,000 units by Pokemon Black and White in third. Kirby's Epic Yarn, Wii Party, and Golden Sun: Dark Dawn rounded out the bottom of the chart in eighth, ninth, and 10th.

While Nintendo ruled software, Sony maintained its position atop the hardware charts. The PSP and the PlayStation 3 were the best-selling machines in their respective categories during the week, with Sony's handheld selling 34,538 units and its console shifting 23,524 units. The DSi twins followed, combining to sell nearly 40,000 systems, while the Wii managed to add just 11,521 more units to its lifetime-to-date numbers. The PSP Go, DS Lite, and Xbox 360 were separated by less than 250 units.
