Berkeley Systems surpassed the one-millionth-registered-player mark this week on its Bezerk online gaming service and has announced a promotion to honor 101 players in the latter half of January. Prizes for both old and new players consist of T-shirts, CD-ROM games, and one grand prize of $500 worth of titles.

The online promotion begins at midnight (PST) on Jan. 13 and goes until midnight Jan. 31.

"Berkeley Systems is thrilled that more than one million people have been entertained by the games on Bezerk over the past few years," said Ellen Holbrook, senior brand manager for Berkeley Systems. "We're excited to be able to reward some of our players with prizes this month."

Since Bezerk's December 1996 launch, the site's online offerings have grown from You Don't Know Jack the netshow to Acrophobia, and You Don't Know Jack Sports the netshow and What's the Big Idea?
