Best Cyber Monday 2013 video game deals

We're hunting, looking for a come up. This is something awesome.

by

Cyber Monday isn't so much a day of shopping as it is the further continuation of sales that mostly started last week. This time, you get to pretend to work while you tried to find the best price on all the things you didn't want to wait in line for on Black Friday.

Here's the best of what we've found so far, but check back for more updates!

CONSOLES

Protip: If you're looking to get a 360 or PS3, you should avoid the 4GB and 12GB bundles; those hard drives fill up much faster than you'd expect, and any price savings will get eaten up by buying a bigger hard drive.

Target has $50 discounts on various 360 and PS3 hardware bundles here.

GAMES

The Amazon upcoming deals calendar lets you stay ahead of Amazon's upcoming discounts, but here are the prices on some of their currently discounted titles:

Best Buy has a rundown of their Cyber Monday deals here.

The Steam Autumn Sale continues until December 3. You'll want to do a quick price comparison with Amazon's digital game sales, though. A few ongoing highlights from the Amazon sale to compare prices against are:

PlayStation Plus 1 year subscription for $30 from Dell (in case you missed this on Black Friday).

STORES

Best Buy's "Cyber Week" of sales is ongoing, but we'll include specific deals as they become available. We'll be on the lookout for more deals from GameStop, Walmart, and other retailers.

And you can compare this to our round-up of the best Black Friday video game deals so you can see what you missed (or what you were better off waiting for).

Find any great bargains not listed above (or just a personal favorite you won't to let other readers know about?) Let us know in the comments!

It's been a pretty weak Black Friday/Cyber Monday as far as deals go.

Keep an eye on the deals Amazon is running for a limited time. Those seem to be much better than anything here. I just bought Dead Space 3 for $10. They've had a few other gems on there too, but stuff I've already played.

Black Friday seemed to have better online deals than Cyber Monday. Weird. Steam sales are awesome, nonetheless.

Kinda seems like cyber monday is pointless when there are much better deals on black friday it seems.  I know cyber monday is supposed to be for the internet but even online there are better deals on black friday.

Wow, that Bioshock franchise pack is just insane value. I still have no regrets buying them all the day they came out though.

Best Buy can suck it. They had all their hot "Black Friday" items on sale Thursday, at which point they were sold out by 12:30am, and continued to be sold out until Sunday. Now Monday all of a sudden they're in stock and available but at their original prices. Douches.

sad that no one is offering new console game deals. I'm sure many are avoiding spending on the older systems considering they can't play them on the new platforms.

Amazon is being pretty good to me. The Bioshock trilogy for $15. The Kingdoms of Amalur pack (including dlc) for $8. Max Payne 3 and its season pass for like $6. I'm waiting for steam to get in on the action for the most part though.

Haven't found a retailer selling Wii U cheap. Instead they're bundling a couple peripherals with it for about the same price. I'm pretty disappointed about this. Ah well at least I won't get as many microtransaction BS like the X1 and PS4.

Too bad there are no good games I dont have already. The best deals are crap like tablets and that but all that stuff sells out first.

The skylanders swap force deal is interesting trying to figure out if it beats the toys r us deal it's going to be close after taxes. It's a buy 2 get 1 free on characters vs toys r us buy 1 get 1 70% off.

@AggrandizedUser Weird...it's supposed to link back to the original image...but that doesn't seem to work in the caption. I'll figure out why that's not working.

@SteamyPotatoes I just got three games from the Steam Sale, Metro Last Light - $13, Hammer Watch - $2, Surgeon Simulator - $2

It was all under 20 bucks, haha. So friggin awesome.

@Auriken I just went to buy the Amalur pack and then read it is for Origin only. I know I MIGHT be being paranoid about the whole Origin stuff, but just not sure I want to commit to using Origin?

Wow wasn't even close toys r us would be near $40 for 3 characters + tax, while 3 from Amazon is $29.98 no tax and prime shipping Amazon wins.

@thisBlueDude @awhite33 Overheating?  Thats funny.  Mine was running in an enclosed space for 6 hours Friday and didn't overheat.

@SteamyPotatoes Right now the Metro Franchise Pack is $18 BTW, for people who want the DLC for Last Light and haven't played the first one.

@HiroArka @Auriken it's pretty much the same as steam, in fact their client runs better. And hey its only for one game, and a singleplayer game at that. It's a good game for what it's worth.

chano880
chano880

@Grenadeh @chano880 @HiroArka @Auriken It's not a ridiculous statement, it is how it is. It does lack some of steam's features (and most importantly the sales) but it is very stable, more than Steam was when it had origins 'age' at that time.

As for the interface, I like it, it does the job for me and it is faster in terms of browsing the store than steam is.

I'm not one to take sides and both programs do their jobs just fine.

Auriken

@Grenadeh @chano880 @HiroArka @Auriken Oh come on, it's not that bad. You start the client, you click the button, you play the damn game. Download speeds are fine and I've rarely ever had problems using the client for it's intended purpose. It steam better? Yes. Does steam have more features? Yes. Do I use even half of those features? Absolutely not.

At least Origin knows what it is. It's a platform for delivering digital games for playing. When it comes to that it does it really well.

Grenadeh

@chano880 @HiroArka @Auriken The client doesn't run better, that's a ridiculous statement, but it's basically Steam. Minus community, minus much of the stability, minus a good interface or any customization or a decent store.
