Below coming to Steam alongside Xbox One

Latest trailer shows a very familiar logo.

by

Super Time Force developer Capybara Games has indicated that it will release its latest title, Below, on Steam alongside Xbox One.

The latest trailer for the game shows a glimpse of the Steam logo at the end. Capy co-founder and president Nathan Vella said on Twitter that "I am not tweeting about the rad reveal at the end of the Below trailer… but we'll be sharing tons more info at #PAXEast2014 about it."

The enigmatic roguelike was first revealed at E3 2013 as part of Microsoft's press conference, with Capy explaining that the game would be released on other platforms after a period of timed exclusivity on Xbox One.

The game will be released on Xbox One at some point in 2014.

Below will be playable at PAX East 2014. GameSpot will be attending the show in force, so be sure to check back over the weekend for the latest info.

So when they said timed exclusive, they meant that it was also coming to PC, or that it will be on Xbox One first and PC then release it on other consoles? Just wanted some clarification.

It's one of my big hopes for the future that there won't be any Xbox exclusives anymore, just Microsoft exklusives which includes all the platforms and products they support for core gaming... ;)

Of course, how else would you release a PC game?

This was the boringest trailer I have ever watched.

Hope it comes to PS4 not long after its PC/Xbone release, looks great, would like to see some more gameplay though

I'm getting a serious "Hyper light Drifter" vibe from this game.

A slower-paced roguelike? Count me in!

Fuckin Microsoft... STOP releasing all your exclusives on PC! How stupid can you be? You must not want people to buy your console because you seem to give away the only reasons to, not that this game is a system seller.

Nice... they are keeping the same guy who did the music for Sword and Sworcery. I'd buy this game for the music alone.

PS4 and Mirosoft doing a lot indie games why? because cheap and a lot people buy indie games thats why this gen is the last because they not much AAA Games this year.

@Vodoo  You do know that MS is in the PC buisness; Right?

@Vodoo  How about we leave the marketing strategies to the professionals, ay sport?

@Vodoo Well, this is even less of an exclusive...  it's a timed exclusive...  meaning it will finally end up across pretty much all platforms.

@playstationzone Indie's are a goldmine.  The dev does all of the work (usually) and pays to get it "published" on a platform.  Then, if it's a hit, the platform makes a relatively large sum -- certainly compared to AAA games.  MS made a big mistake in not courting indies from the outset.

@playstationzone  I think, by definition, indies are independent from any publisher, such as Sony or Microsoft.  Although they are both trying to help indies develop for their respective platforms.  (Microsoft was a little late to this particular party, but seems to be making up for lost time.)

@bdous  If this would depend on MS only, game would be released exclusively on XB1. It's better for PC gaming, when MS stays away. They destroyed own PC studios and IPs like Age of Empires and Flight Simulator.

@bdous  Thank god they ditched Games for Windows and have a deal with Steam. I always though MS might by Valve and kill Origin and Uplay, but it will never happen.

@wallacom @bdousShh we don't talk about GFWL, lest the specter of that terrible service should somehow be raised :P

@iamllamapie @zura_janai  I enjoy when people go I can't wait to play it on  **preferred platform*

The core gameplay will be the same on all.

Its like me saying This movie looks good. I can't wait to drive there in my Ferrari

@xxmavr1kxx change the order:
"
The core gameplay will be the same on all." And that is why... "people go I can't wait to play it on  **preferred platform*

Because: since the game is going to be the same, you play where you feel more conformable.

"This movie looks good. I can't wait to drive there in my Ferrari" It's a wrong allegory,

@Daian But than again Racing games, fighters and assassin's creed type games are better with a controller.

@xxmavr1kxx not necessarily, it might also show support for a certain platform in this case.

And the experience can be considerably different depending on quality difference or chosen control option (a shooter on PC with m&k is a whole different thing than using a gamepad on consoles for example).
