LeFou actor Josh Gad says his horse didn't exactly cooperate during filming.

With Disney's new Beauty and the Beast set to hit theaters this Friday, some of the stars are doing the late night TV circuit to promote the film. LeFou actor Josh Gad appeared on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon last night and shared a story about his horse and how it wouldn't always cooperate during filming.

The horse's name is Buddy, but he was no friend to Gad. For the scene where he and Gaston (Luke Evans) rode into town, Gad's horse actually "moonwalked" backwards, Gad recalled, while Evans' steed had no problems. Things got worse. Gad's horse then galloped through the village set, apparently coming close to crashing into Belle actress Emma Watson. "And then the horse-trainer, literally [with] tears in his eyes, comes up to me and says, 'I'm so sorry; I've never seen that happen before.'"

In a second clip, Gad talked about how his children were terrified to see their father's face on the LeFou Beauty and the Beast poster. "It's like an overweight Jack Nicholson," Gad said about how his character looks in the poster. Gad and Fallon then do some pretty excellent Jack Nicholson impressions.

Beauty and the Beast opens on March 17, and projections are showing that it will be a huge hit. A recent report said the magical movie could bring in as much as $245 million worldwide for its opening weekend.

It is just the latest live-action adaptation of a classic Disney film, following Maleficent, Cinderella, The Jungle Book, and Alice in Wonderland.
