To commemorate the launch of MTV Games and Harmonix's The Beatles: Rock Band, Microsoft announced yesterday a special-edition console bearing the Fab Four's likeness. With eight days before the auction is set to expire, the Beatles-branded Xbox 360 has already accrued more than 80 bids and is currently commanding a $7,000 offer--some $6,700 more than the MSRP. Microsoft did not indicate how may Beatles consoles would be made available, saying only that a limited quantity would be auctioned off for charity in the lead-up to the holiday season.

As previously announced, Microsoft will also be donating its proceeds from The Beatles: Rock Band's first downloadable track, "All You Need Is Love." The track, which is available as a timed-exclusive to Xbox 360 owners beginning today, can be purchased for MSP 160 ($2).
