Battlefield, Star Wars Studio DICE Loses General Manager

[UPDATE] EA has sent along statements to GameSpot as well, confirming Bach's departure from EA.

"Patrick Bach has been a great colleague to many across DICE and EA for almost 15 years. We thank him for all of his contributions, especially to our Battlefield franchise and community, and wish him all the best on his next adventure," EA Studios boss Patrick Soderlund said.

Bach added: "I've had an epic ride at DICE and EA, filled with amazingly creative and passionate people, and unforgettable experiences with our player community. I'll certainly be playing Battlefield 1 for a long, long time to come, and I look forward to seeing what's next from the incredible team at DICE."

PlayStation Lifestyle reported that Bach is leaving EA to spend more time with his family.

Patrick Bach, the general manager of EA's DICE studio in Sweden, is leaving the company. He worked at EA for nearly 15 years, contributing to DICE's franchises like Battlefield and Star Wars Battlefront.

"Patrick Bach has been a great colleague to many across DICE and EA for almost 15 years," EA Studios boss Patrick Soderlund said in a statement to PlayStation Lifestyle. "We thank him for all of his contributions, especially to our Battlefield franchise and community, and wish him all the best on his next adventure."

Bach said in his own statement that he had an "epic ride" at DICE and EA.

"I'll certainly be playing Battlefield 1 for a long, long time to come, and I look forward to seeing what's next from the incredible team at DICE," he said.

There is no word yet on what Bach will do next or who may fill his role as GM of DICE. We have followed up with EA in an attempt to get more details.

The studio's latest game was Battlefield 1, which came out on October 21. The World War I shooter got off to a strong start, outpacing the launch-week player figures for Battlefield 4, EA said last week.

In addition to ongoing support for Battlefield 1, DICE continues to work on Star Wars Battlefront updates and DLC, while the studio is also making Star Wars Battlefront 2 for fall 2017.
