Battlefield returns to Vietnam
E3 2010: Bad Company 2 multiplayer expansion lets gamers go at it as the Marines or NVAs this winter; package includes new maps, weapons, vehicles, and unlockables.
LOS ANGELES--Activision's Call of Duty: Black Ops, set to arrive this November, takes place during the Vietnam War-era. However, it's not the only shooter traveling to the digital Pacific.
Today at Electronic Arts' media briefing, the publisher announced an expansion pack for Battlefield: Bad Company 2. Dubbed the Battlefield: Bad Company Vietnam pack, the paid content brings four new multiplayer environments to the rotation. Additionally, the pack includes new weapons, vehicles, unlocks, awards, achievements, and trophies. Shooter fans will fight as either U.S. Marines or North Vietnamese Army (NVA) on the new jungle-oriented maps. 
The Vietnam pack will arrive this winter for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC. EA has not revealed a price for the content but promises to do so "at a later date."
However, a piece of content that does have a date and price is the game's first paid downloadable content, Onslaught mode. Scheduled to arrive June 22, the premium content brings cooperative, objective-based missions to the war game, as well as Kit Shortcuts, which unlock every item in a character class.
Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is a product of Swedish developer DICE and has sold over 5 million units since it debuted in early March. For more on the game, check out GameSpot's Bad Company 2 review.
