Battlefield Hardline October Release Leaked in New Trailer

Update: EA has published the official teaser trailer and confirmed October 21 release date.

Update: Electronic Arts has published the official teaser trailer for Battlefield Hardline, confirming the October 21 release date. The PlayStation logo that was in the leaked video has been removed.

Original story below.

A newly leaked trailer reveals Battlefield Hardline's release date to be October 21.

Presumably the official trailer for this year's Battlefield title, the video shows a sizzle reel of explosions and violence. This is followed by a title screen that directs you to watch a five-minute multiplayer demo on Battlefield's official site, which is not yet available. The release date then flashes on-screen.

This makes three Battlefields in a row to be released in late October, which--if patterns repeat--put them a week or two ahead of Call of Duty's annual November release.

Hardline was confirmed by developer Visceral Games last week, and shortly thereafter a leaked video revealed the context of the game's story. It centers around a detective named Nick Mendoza who pursues his rogue ex-partners across the U.S. Multiplayer details were also revealed. Four new modes--Heist, Rescue, Hotwire, and Bloodmoney--make up Hardline's cops-and-robbers multiplayer.

Also noteworthy is the inclusion of a PlayStation logo at the end of the video, indicating that this trailer will probably be shown at Sony's E3 press conference or published on the PlayStation website. Battlefield 4 was shown off at Microsoft's E3 conference last year, and its DLC has timed exclusivity on Microsoft platforms.

Electronic Arts is scheduled to show off more of the game at this year's E3, so keep an eye on GameSpot's E3 2014 coverage all of next week to see the latest news, videos, and impressions of Battlefield Hardline.

I bought BF before to escape from the COD handholding BS. Now that BF has gone the way of COD it's time for something else. Wonder which shooter can step up for my FPS needs

I will not be buying this early; wait until bugs (if ever) are taken out.

Man, starting to feel like Day 3 of E3 already.  Wonder what pre-E3 trailers, "leaks" or "rumors" we'll get today!

I remember EA saying that they will not be releasing new Battlefield game this year, here we are another battlefield game. They can say that this is urban warfare, something with End of Watch flavour but the truth is that this is another Battlefield game. Never trust corporation's statements.

Anyway I hope that this Battlefield spinn off will not be full of bugs.

People are still bitching , at least they made something different instead of boring shooters . I like the mix between gta and the fps , if the game is about teamwork and have fun heists I'll buy it for sure . It's so sad that people nowadays just want to be thrown in an open map and running and killing no team work no effort at all . This is better than shitty bf4 anyway if you don't like it don't buy it simple .

"Leaked" lol yeah right they are testing the peoples reaction and without getting direct flak from it oh and they seem to have decided to make BF a yearly series WAY TO GO EA milk that sires then kill it, greedy suits.

Is this the so called amazing footage they talked of the first time the so called leak came out. Anyway Battlefield 3 upset me, Battlefield 4 made me want to poop down Dices throats. I'll pass on this thanks.

Can we please stop using the word "leaked" I grow weary of the same old PR spin over and over again. The title should read EA post video (on purpose) then takes it down again in the vein hope small children (too young to play the game anyway) will get excited about a "leaked" &_& video and talk about it in the play ground. granted a bit long winded, but apt very very apt !

I'm hoping for a crazy, over-the-top-to-no-end-game.  Bad Company was the crazier side of BF so why can't this be if done right?  Yeah, it seems odd but who knows, maybe it'll surprise.  I'm going to wait until we see gameplay before I start judging it.

this is not a battlefield game. the game could have been called just hardline, they only through the "battlefield" name on it to get it noticed.

I can't wait for E3.... Not only is it a time for me to drool over awesome new games, but it's also one of the last chances for me to be persuaded to buy the games they show.... As long as the vertical slice that's being shown is an accurate representation of the finished product, I'll be happy with whatever's shown

EA really needs to get these leaks under control. Whoever is showing all this stuff needs to be fired. They make employees sign an NDA for a reason.

looks like frostbite can´t do update rates of 60hz, without dice reworking most of frostbite code and dice rather create more games than to fix their engine to give player a better experience. battlefield hardline will have the same netcode problems bf4 have after the new patch. update rates of 30hz isn´t enough.

when are console player will start to demand mp fps game with locked 60fps and udate rates of 60hz? how are this games nextgen when they run worse than 10+ years old mp fps games.

I really have no desire to purchase this. Battlefield is really nothing more than call of duty anymore.

BF4 the game this is based off of barely works.

Atleast cod produces a working game.

@beuneus12 The only thing I don't like about the battlefield games are the corny story modes they all have, and crappy actors, and the constant copying and pasting of buildings from previous games and maps.. and sometimes you don't even know what the building is supposed to be and its basically completely empty too... but once you get past that its not that bad xD

Beesters

@beuneus12 Give Titanfall a chance. Its not a bad start to a game franchise.

@Karmazyn They might of meant major Battlefield release or this project was rebranded.

@_williamwallace You like unfinished buggy games? BTW if you take sayings from family guy your not old enough to buy games like this anyways.

I won't defend CoD after all it's the reality TV of gaming.

But, can you honestly tell me that BF3 MoH, BF4 and now Hardline are all not just reskins of BFBC2?

Actually, they have all been shallow soulless copies of BC2.

Technically, family guy is a mature rated show.....
