Battlefield 4 screens leak

Three new images from upcoming shooter emerge ahead of media event this evening; one soldier shown wearing Oakley glove and holding Sharpie pen.

UPDATE: A supposed trailer has since been leaked from a UK-based YouTube channel. The video can be viewed below:

Three Battlefield 4 images have leaked ahead of a media event planned for this evening where the game is expected to be discussed in greater detail. The images were found on a public directory on the Battlefield blog.

One screenshot, labeled Construction (at right), shows a team of gun-toting soldiers moving down a hill while sunlight bursts through a bird-filled sky. Two additional images show off pairs of soldiers, each with United States flags embroidered on their uniforms.

Notably, one of the soldiers is wearing an Oakley glove and has a Sharpie pen in his pocket, suggesting the game may feature product placement in some way.

EA announced Battlefield 4 last July, revealing that a beta for the game will launch during fall 2013. Those who purchased the underperforming Medal of Honor: Warfighter are guaranteed access to the beta.

Battlefield 4 may not be the only new franchise entry in the works. A report from May suggested series developer DICE was at work on a new entry in the spin-off series, Battlefield: Bad Company 3.

"one of the soldiers is wearing an Oakley glove and has a Sharpie pen in his pocket, suggesting the game may feature product placement in some way." I don't know how an Oakley glove or a sharpie pen looks like (and couldn't identify either one in the images), but I guess that just means that I'm weird or something :P - of course everyone knows about Oakley gloves and Sharpie pens.

Without the title in the bottom corner how would you tell it's a new game. It looks like any other shooter that is out there 10 times a year. FPS shows how unoriginal the market has become. Let's all thank Nintendo for still being there and actually having some oringinal thoughts in a world obsessed with guns and headshots.

Wow what a major disappointment. Played BF3 for hundreds of hours, but this seems like an expansion pack for BF3. Still warping into cars, no intelligent cover system like in Far Cry 3, same hit detection system and the same animations when enemies are hit.. i expected a LOT more from BF4. But the facial animations and the graphics overall are pretty good.. let's wait and see.. But right now i wouldn't buy it..

It seems everything these days is leaked footage :)

That aisde, the "leaked" screens/trailers are awesome. I can't wait!

EA probably leaked these images themselves.

What is better hype than unofficial hype, right?

This is just low.

I really hope that they give BF4 the features from BF2 that was missing from the 3rd game. Like commander role, 6-man squads, VoIP between squadmates and between squad leaders and commander, offline gameplay over LAN with computer controlled player available, more specialized kits (BF2 had 7, with each playing a distinctive role) and last but definitely not least... in-game server browser. But knowing EA, of course, we'll never see these things again, even though people have asked for them pretty much since the launch of Battlefield 3.

@ElaissePlease feel free to show us a $500 PC that can play BF4 at that level of graphics. Considering it takes an HD7970/GTX680 to play BF3 at comfortable level now, my guess is to get those graphics on the PC would require a $1,000 GTX Titan. You also seem to have missed the point of consoles. Console gaming has never been about having the best graphics. Typical trolling. Let us know how a $500 GTX680 copes with next generation PC cross-platform titles in the years 2017 and beyond.

@Elaisse Killzone Shadow Fall was a early build, we dont know anything of Killzone Shadow Fall yet.

It may have to get a official title yet. So dont assume anything yet.

@kipsta77 pc bf3 max settings 4gig ,bf4  ps4 ram 8gig gddr5  ps4 wins

emptycow

@kipsta77 the ps4 has 8gb of gddr5  ram  sorry to say but the pc at max settings only used 4gb of ram  so  yea if bf4 was built from the ground up for the ps4  it could look twice as good as bf3 at max settings  on ps4

@realguitarhero5 It's alright...but you didn't miss much.

It's worth going through (play it on Hard because it'll actually be challenging then) but you won't see anything particularly ground breaking.

@Hurvl

Oh yea, them too... Except for crysis 1 (which the avatar represents)...

You know.... The one where you can use in devmode to play in 3rd person view with all the glorious animations showing, the jet-pack in zero gravity, the tank battles, the flyable VTOLs, the sprint mode that actually lets you run faster than a boosting vehicle, flying aliens, and non-linear free-roaming missions with gigantic jaw-dropping maps.

How about we just exclude Crysis 1 from this category, ok...? Only to be fair... You can include Crysis 2 and 3 if you want though.

@emptycow @kipsta77 PCs have far more than 4gb of RAM, the norm these days is 8gb and better machines are 16gb. Not all of PS4's RAM is for games, so you're looking at 4 or 6gb max dedicated RAM for games.

But RAM is only one slice of the pie. The PS4 uses an AMD APU, which is far weaker than what an actual dedicated PC graphics card is capable of. The stuff going into the PS4 is basically what's in laptops, nowhere near as powerful as a true gaming PC.

The PS4 is powerful, but saying it's more powerful than a PC is a joke.

@emptycow @kipsta77 You seem to be forgetting the rest of the hardware, not to mention not all 8 GB go to graphics. Throw in the low-mid range GPU and CPU and the PS4 will be pretty, and might look better than some PC titles early on, but that won't last.

toshineon

@emptycow Wait... the PS4's RAM memory uses GDDR5? (*Graphics* Double Data Rate) How the hell does that work?

@AyatollaofRnR no voice chat on PS3 for months USAS 12 frag rounds mav floating players/killing, m26 mass heavy barrel, Tv missile killing the the 1's that shoot it & many more glitches that IND gamers posted that dice still hasn't fixed so yeah BF3 was pretty solid.

emptycow

@Holoogamooga_ @emptycow @kipsta77 the point is bf4 on  ps4 will look better then bf3 running at max settings on pc
