Titanfall, crysis trilogy and mass effect trilogy are all amazing :). Well mass effect 3 was meh, but 1 and 2 were so amazing that you should play 3 just to finish the franchise. Crysis 3 was really good. The campaign was 9 hours at veteran difficulty and it was linear, but the multiplayer feels a lot better than crysis 2 :). Crysis 2's campaign is pretty strong but the AI are supremely stupid -_-. Titanfall single player is short, and a bit different from the multiplayer but still the weakest part of the game. The multiplayer is fun. I have battlefield 3, but i don't like it too much. I would prefer crysis 3, but i prefer sci fi over modern shooters any day.

BF4 is probably worth about 5 bucks.

Both games are dull so far. I just purchased both of them(I love First person Shooters by the way) and they are both extremely boring. Do people really think these games are great?

Psycold

@Dredcrumb9  I got sick of BF4 after a couple hundred hours so I figure I got my moneys worth, Titanfall just sucks though. It's every bit as bad as COD, and it seems like 99% of Titanfall players are COD players.

DAO for 5 bucks is still the best deal, g8 game

€ cost twice more than $  don't get into that trap, that's why i use steam they don't do that crap.

Good deals... I might hit up some Tomb Raider.

BF4 - Half price for half a game. Seems fair to me.

@Baconelite Unfortunately we on console don't get the deal, I can't believe the shit is still broken honestly.

Psycold

@r-e-a-v-e @Baconelite  You can blame Microsoft or Sony for that, get a PC and quit being held back by a third party. You know it's companies like MS that are ruining gaming? They charge even small game studios thousands of dollars just to update their game.

Battlefield 4 - $24.99 and €29.99 ($41.44). What's the excuse? In Europe we don't pay VAT, cause there are loopholes in the current laws that allow for that, so why do EU people pay 65% more for the same game?

Titanfall - $48 and €48 that's 37.5% more, again, VAT doesn't matter here cause it's digital.

This is absurd!

I live in Denmark and use the currency 'DDK' . So i compared the prices of Battlefield 4 from this article to origin in my domain.

The articles prices Battlefield 4 as original price: $50 which is equal to 270,18 Kr. and discount: $25 = 135,09 Kr.

But Origin in my country prices Battlefield 4's original price as: 499,00 Kr. and the discount as: 249,50 Kr.

In the discount price: that is a difference of 114,41 kr. or $21,17.

This means either that GameSpot made an error in this article or that Origin prices the games differently according to countries.

That would just be stupid since it is a Digital Online sale and i don't pay taxes or import prices or anything to get the game in my country.

This just gives me a reason for hating Origin even more! "Viva la Steam!"

thorn3000
thorn3000

@Remises usually difference like this are per country tax laws, in Australia for ex. games can never be cheap

I see enough huge sales on steam, GOG, GMG and Gamersgate all the time and they rarely ever get mentioned
As soon as EA does one of their sales its directly reported on here

So may i ask is EA paying you guys to advertise in the form of articles ?

billlabowski
billlabowski

@demondogx  So people argue back and forth about their platform of choice. PC gamers will talk sales, console gamers will get pissed off and start throwing temper tantrums. Part of the Gamespot charm.

bernard978
bernard978

@demondogx  Actually there are articles made about GOG, only the other day there was one for the Witcher 1 and 2. You're right that they don't cover anything as much as Steam/Origin however.

demondogx
demondogx

@billlabowski @demondogx The difference is we fight about where we get the most freedom and best deals while console fanboys fight about what little games they can get at a 60$+ price

I wouldn't touch Titanfall with a barge pole, I really do regret buying that, still I've learned from my mistake, it won't happen again.

Europe: same numbers diferent currency - PASS!

Kinguin sells Titanfall for 30eur since the release -- I'll wait till it's 15eur. That game offers cheap pace it's not worth more

thorn3000
thorn3000

@mr_nee are u sure Kinguin is legit and that they won't sell u a used a code? since that is what code only selling internet retailers do, half of the time they sell u a code that might already be used...a legit retailer is one who offers you a download capacity to download the game such as origin or steam or one who sends u the game in a box...if the retailer offers you only a code but ask you to download it through another party, then you can be positive it is likely unauthorized code reselling and code might be used or if it works it might eventually be disabled by publisher

Why is this under 3DS news? GS seems to make mistakes like these daily nowadays.

R4gn4r0k

Even with those discounts, I still can find all the games cheaper at most other (online) stores. I never buy something from Origin, their prices are just not fair. At least where I live in Europe.

Normal launch game price : 39.99 - 49.99

Origins absurd launch price : 59.99 - 69.99

I've always believe that Origin just didn't want to sell anything :)

DICE should have given away a DLC for compensation

Darkangel2154

They should only offer games that work as intended for money... The games that don't work right "most of them" should be given away like beta's.

No thanks

I'm totally done with PC gaming

Fabian85
Fabian85

@mr_nee @Fabian85 I dont think so, low end pc is as cheap has much bigger library, bc, mod support, cheaper games, different controller options, no paywall for online, can emulate ps2 and wii games. So why would that be? I mean give a single reason please...

dani_i89
dani_i89

@Fabian85 Consoles offer better exclusives and much better value. I can play great looking games that are almost as good as the PC versions on high spec. I also only have to pay $400 once for the hardware. $400 towards a PC is petty change really. I'm mainly a PC gamer, but the convenience and exclusives of consoles are well worth the investment.

Fabian85
Fabian85

@dani_i89 @Fabian85 Low budget pcs beat youre console maybe you are not following news? Low end pc card 750 ti plays titanfall better than Xbox 1 and multiplatform games better than ps4 that is certain. Gpu is the most important hardware in gaming and in consoles its shit you should now that. That low end card will outdo your new console for about the same price together with other parts slightly higher price maybe a 100 more but still Counts as a low end pc. You must be joking, name one console where exclusives triumphs the pc? Released yesterday on pc wargame red dragon(whole series is exclusive). Im gonna throw a lot of them at you know: Arma 3, Arma2, The Forest, Starcraft 2, starcraft 2 heart of the swarm, Tera, Planetary annihilation, Star citizen, Shogun 2, Napoleon total war, Rome 2, Red Orchestra 2,Rising storm, Loadout, Ghost phantoms, Wildstar, Divinity original sin, Next car game,  Stomping land, Age of Wonders, Heroes of might and magic series, Broken Age and the new rogue squadron game and on and on and on. Look at the youtube feature if your console has one because you dont know anything about exclusives. You ps4 fans mistake your games like contrast, ps2, shadów warrior for exclusives all the time. Now make a list for ps4 and i will have your apology. You cant even keep your exclusives exclusive you know the ps3 emulator is now in alpha? Not that I care for those kids appeal games but we will get them and yawn. Let the pcgamers talk in peace and keep to your casual kid games.... GTFO!

High end visuals isnt for everyone. Some prefer low end budget hardware consoles provide.

Fabian85

Lets not forget the screwing around with discs part and partial installs. Dont pretend to be all digital you people cant yet with those 500gb harddrives if you want a decent library. Meanwhile on pc 2 clicks to buy game downloads and two clicks to play no install needed and if you want to play on tv instead an extra click on the remote. And you have to get to the store or postal service spot to get your games. So what you said is more true for pc.

$73 for game and premium and if your not a patient individual another $50 for the unlock DLC. Even the dirtiest of car salesmen cant touch EA lol

Bexorcist
Bexorcist

@waffleiron88 If you weren't completely retarded, you would have been able to pick the game + premium up at launch for 55 dollars, which is a fair price for a triple A game with all its DLC and NO, I never experienced a single bug so STFU.

Bexorcist
Bexorcist

@demondogx @Bexorcist @waffleiron88 Yeah, excuse me for liking the entire Battlefield-series and not to have experienced a single bug (maybe a very small server issue every now and then). I'm getting tired of idiots not being able to search the internet for alternatives to Origin or Steam, which are both rather expensive platforms to buy your  digital games from. (Sales are often attractive though).

nhall00195
nhall00195

$25 in the USA and $40 in Australia...for digital content when the dollar is at parity. FUCK OFF EA/ORIGIN!!!

Put Dead space 3, Crysis 3 and Mass effect 3 on STEAM or i dont care :)

But thx anyway.

Theres a reason for this, i have the other games on STEAM. I like collections to be in one place not spread out over a different stores.

You put Dead Space 3 and ME 3 on AMAZON and its just a retailer. Stop seeing STEAM as a direct retailer competition to ORIGIN and start just seeing them as a normal game retailer like any other store. Because people like me will most likely buy ME3 if it was with the rest of their games on STEAM.

Its like when they release games like HALO on PC and then not release HALO 2 for ages and they never released HALO 3 at all on PC. Same with GEARS OF WAR.

Death_Masta187
Death_Masta187

damn why is PC gaming so expensive? /sarcasm tm

Also Dead Space 1 is free and has been for the last month on Origin.

Still too pricey here in Australia. I keep forgetting how expensive it is shipping bytes over here. :P

No. Even if they were adding the GST (which they're not) it would only add 10%.

Aletunda

@Mr_Q_Oz  Yeah when I saw the article I thought FUCK YEAH now I can buy titanfall, 40 bucks fricken sweet, OH WAIT its only dropped to 63 dollars here. FUCK YOU EA, this is such bullshit
