Battlefield 4 China Rising DLC coming December 3

But those who aren't subscribed to Battlefield Premium will have to wait two extra weeks.

by

Battlefield 4's second DLC, China Rising, will be released to Battlefield Premium subscribers on December 3.

The release date (spotted by VideoGamer) is mentioned in the in-game Battlefield 4 Premium content calendar. Those who are not Battlefield Premium members will be able to access the China Rising expansion two weeks later.

EA has also offered China Rising as a pre-order incentive when purchasing Battlefield 4 from selected retailers, though it is currently unclear when these owners will be able to access the content.

China Rising will follow the release of Second Assault, which will be a timed-exclusive for Xbox One when the console launches on November 22. Second Assault updates Battlefield 3 maps Caspian Border, Gulf of Oman, Operation Firestorm, and Operation Metro for Battlefield 4.

Second Assault has not yet been dated for other platforms. Alongside China Rising and Second Assault, Battlefield 4 will receive three additional chunks of DLC: Naval Strike, Dragon's Teeth, and Final Stand.

Battlefield 4 is now available on PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3. Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions will follow at launch.

Not sure this is a big deal.  They are releasing updated BF3 maps and pre-order content.  Otherwise, I'd say WAY too soon, but this is mainly marketing.

Ignoring the obvious fact that EA is a bunch of greedy a**holes who are trying to make you pay for content that should be included in the game it is for and hasn't even been released yet and are going to make you wait two weeks if you don't have their premium service, the only good thing I see about this "China Rising" DLC is that now more people will now see what I know to be true which is that China will be the ones to start WWIII.

That's just dumb. Killzone + Season Pass should be a better investment. Way to screw people over who aren't going to preorder or purchase premium.

Who'd wanna buy dlc of a mediocre FPS?

No, thanks.

Killzone: Shadow Fall is waaaaaay better. Besides, it will have free dlc. : D

Having DLC this early is f***ing ludicrous.

So just 4 days after I get my PS4 version (for us Europeans anyway). EA, you are just being ridiculous now lol. Then again, its free with my BF4 pre-order so I can't complain to much

@Butt_Chunx I don't think you understand the progression of video games prices over time. In truth, game prices and console prices are cheaper now than they have ever been. Now considering the budgets for these games have increases massively over time, it would only make sense for EA to either charge more or take pieces of the game out. Truthfully these games should be going to over $100, with consoles hovering about where they already are. Here's the reality: gamers are cheap, this generation is cheap, and we all want too much for too little. Here's a shot article by IGN about the prices of consoles over the years:

http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/10/15/the-real-cost-of-gaming-inflation-time-and-purchasing-power

Here is a graph of how prices of games have dropped during the console era:

http://arstechnica.com/gaming/2013/06/why-retail-console-games-have-never-been-cheaper-historically/

And here is a graph of how video game costs (budgets) have increased over the years:

With a few click google searches you could see how wrong you are about the costs of gaming. My groceries for every week cost more than one of these games. Quit being so cheap.

Battlefield 3 had Back to Karkand right after release.

@CptYoutube The first DLC pack is just BF3 maps, won't take them too long just to polish it up to Frostbite 3 standards.
