Rocksteady Studios has detailed the Community Challenge Pack, an expansion for Batman: Arkham Knight that is set to arrive in January. As its name suggests, this pack comes with content that was chosen in part by fans.

Specifically, Rocksteady sought to know what maps from Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City fans wanted to see added to Arkham Knight as predator and combat challenge maps. More than 800 responses flooded in through this discussion thread, and Rocksteady has now decided which maps will make the cut.

These were announced in the Arkham Knight forums today. Included are Wayne Manor (pictured above) and the Batcave from Arkham City, as well as the Sanatorium from Arkham Asylum. In all, five maps were pulled from Arkham City, with just one coming from Arkham Asylum. The full rundown is available below.

Predator

  • Wayne Manor Main Hall (Batman: Arkham City)
  • Batcave (Batman: Arkham City)
  • Sanatorium, Medical Facility (Batman: Arkham Asylum)

Combat

  • Iceberg Lounge (Batman: Arkham City)
  • Crime Alley (Batman: Arkham Knight)
  • Monarch Theatre (Batman: Arkham City)

The Wayne Manor image is the only asset that Rocksteady shared for Arkham Knight's Community Challenge Pack. Presumably, more images/videos will be shared at a later date.

The Community Challenge Pack also adds a new AR challenge, the game's seventh. This, too, was inspired by fan feedback. "We've been listening to you guys and one of the most interesting ideas the community has had is for an endless survival predator map," Rocksteady said. "We made a prototype and ended up really liking it, so we're bringing it to you in January."

The expansion comes to Arkham Knight in January 2016, though a specific release date was not announced nor was it said if this DLC will be included with the game's $40 season pass. We've followed up with publisher Warner Bros. in an attempt to get more details. Rocksteady added that PC players--those who have stuck with the game through its problems--will get access to it "a little earlier" than Xbox One and PlayStation 4 players.

Arkham Knight players don't have to wait until January for new content, however. DLC themed around next year's Batman v Superman will launch on November 24, while December will see the release of extra content based on 2008's The Dark Knight. Read this post for a full rundown of what to expect.
