As spotted by Rock, Paper, Shotgun, a Warner Bros. representative shared more details on the "difficult decision" to abandon dual-GPU support in the game's Steam forums.

"The result was that even the best case estimates for performance improvements turned out to be relatively small given the high risk of creating new issues for all players," it said. "As a result, we've had to make the difficult decision to stop work on further multi-GPU support. We are disappointed that this was not practical and apologize to those who have been waiting for this feature."

This is just the latest setback for Arkham Knight's PC version. The game originally launched for PC alongside the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One editions in June 2015. However, it was marred by technical troubles that were so severe that Warner Bros. removed the game from sale.

It was reinstated at the end of October 2015 with a free game offer to make up for the issues, but problems persisted. As a result, Warner Bros. announced an unconditional refund program.
