Ballistics on the GeForce3

As part of its ongoing demonstration of its GeForce3 graphics chip, Nvidia has released new screenshots from and a movie of the upcoming racing game Ballistics. The game is currently in development at Sweden-based game developer Grin, and it is designed to take advantage of high-end 3D graphics cards. The new screenshots and movie show off some of the advanced texture-mapping and rendering techniques used in the game.

Ballistics is set in the future, after most of the world's troubles, such as war and crime, have been eliminated. To feed the public's thirst for excitement, a new sport called ballistics grew out of the Formula 1 races. Players will control supersonic hoverbikes in dangerous high-stakes races along magnetic tracks, and they will be able to use their winnings to upgrade their hoverbikes.
