Aussie game charts: September 17-23

Super Paper Mario folds its way to number one.

by

Despite a six-month delay in PAL territories, Super Paper Mario debuted in the overall Australian game charts at number one according to data trackers GfK Australia.

The other two big games that came out during the week of September 17-23--Heavenly Sword and World in Conflict--also made it into the top 10. Heavenly Sword took out the second spot, while World in Conflict sat in sixth. Last week's number one--The Sims 2: Bon Voyage--fell all the way to number eight. The final place in the chart was taken by EA Games' Medal of Honor: Airborne, two weeks after launching down under.

Despite not making it into the overall top 10 chart, Warhawk for the PlayStation 3 still managed to grab the second position in the PS3 chart.

Grats to Wii, PS2, PS3, DS and the PC for pummeling the 360 in Australia. How bizarre...

I'm predicting that next week, the number 1 slot will belong to a certain 360 game beginning with the letter "H"... lol

No surprise at SPM taking first. Someone really needs to go around and start burning those Singstar games so we never see them in the top 10 again.

I put my cash down for Super Paper Mario, and have been playing steadily since. Such a fun game, and a clever little one for gamers and non-gamers alike. Nintendo deserves more hits like this.

good to see medal of honor getting some attention- ill be buying it soon, because now wwII games are basically over. Its too bad so many movie games are being sold- they arnt even games, theyre like cheap flash animations for kids. I dont really see the inituity of paper mario- its the same thing over and over, but the kids and ninny fanboys lap it up, gosh.

That's great for Mario. We'll probably see Mario Galaxy get the same numbers.

As an Australian let me just say that I believe people here, when it comes to gaming, are basically idiots.

Why are there 3 Singstar games up there? Anyway, good to see Super Paper Mario (which btw took way too long to be released) and Heavenly Sword at the top of the charts.
