Aussie game charts: October 6-12

Wii Fit proves that casual gaming reigns supreme down under.

There are three things that are certain in life: taxes, death, and Wii Fit topping the Australian game charts. Well, maybe not the third one, but that's certainly how it looks after Wii Fit claimed yet another week at the top, according to data trackers GfK Australia.

Drawn to Life: SpongeBob SquarePants Edition debuted at number two for the week of October 6-12. The Wii Play bundle remains in the same place as it was last week at number three. Mario Kart Wii has moved up one, into number four, while Wall-E for the Nintendo Wii has made its first appearance in the top 10, right in the middle at number five. The PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 2 versions of FIFA Soccer 09 both fell from the previous week, taking out the sixth and seventh places, respectively. SingStar Hottest Hits continues to hold strong in eighth position. The Xbox 360 version of FIFA Soccer 09 fell harder than its PlayStation counterparts, finding itself in the ninth spot this week. Wall-E on the PlayStation 2 just squeezed into the top 10 chart by taking out the 10th position.

Wii Fit is still expensive in a lot of places, too bad i didnt buy it the first time it came out...

And the wii titles once again reign supreme in overall sales.

now if the made more soccer oops'football' games for the Wii, I'd bet they could fill the top ten with just soccer games, hehe

No World of Warcraft in PC top 10? Every top-selling PC game is an EA game!

No one believed me when i said by the end of this year Wii Fit will have sold 10m (i said this in January). Though i am surprised that Mario Kart will also hit that mark.

thats rather bleak if more 'casual' games are dominating our charts. Though, still better than B-grade FPS?

theres a spongebob version of drawn to life? errr... nintendo ftw!? btw 1st! lol
