Aussie game charts: November 2-8

An old friend returns to the charts down under.

You know a game is popular when it can still manage to top the overall Australian game charts 18 months after its release, and that's exactly what Mario Kart Wii has just done for the week of November 2 to 8. When contacted by GameSpot AU, a GfK Australia spokesperson--the firm which tracks game sales down under--said that Mario Kart's high sales during one of the busiest times for new games in the year was due to the fact that a couple of Aussie retailers were bundling the game with Wii consoles.

Cricket and Rabbids Go Home for the Wii debuted at number three and four, respectively, for the week of November 2-8. Previous chart topper, Forza Motorsport 3, remains in the top five...in the fifth spot. The PlayStation 3 version of Tekken 6 took out the sixth position, while the Xbox 360 version of the same game only made it into the platform-specific charts. Grand Theft Auto: Episodes From Liberty City dropped down significantly into seventh place, and then finally, we've got the Wii Play bundle closing out the week in 10th place.
