Aussie game charts: November 10-16

World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King takes hold of the game charts down under.

by

With more than 700 people lining up at midnight at just one of the many stores that stayed open late for launches last week, it should come as no surprise to see that World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King took out the number-one spot down under, according to data trackers GfK Australia.

There were a lot of newcomers to the charts last week, with Wii Music taking out the second spot for the week of November 10-16. Interestingly, Wii Music outsold Guitar Hero World Tour, the other big music game to be released during that week. Call of Duty: World at War for the Xbox 360 has laid claim to third place, whereas the PlayStation 3 version took out the fourth spot. Gears of War 2 fell down from being the previous number one to the current number five. The Guitar Hero World Tour "super" bundle has taken out several slots in last week's charts, with the Wii version being the highest ranked in sixth place. The 360 and PS3 versions of the game are in the lower half of the chart, in ninth and 10th spots, respectively. Wii Fit has managed to hold on to the seventh position for another week, but the same couldn't be said for the Wii Play and Wii Remote bundle, which dropped to number eight.

Interesting to see so many ppl paying out on Wii Music... unless you bought it, I don't really think you have the right to bag it out

Notice the complete lack of Rock Band??? Take note Harmonix, this is what happens when you delay something for over a year, then suddenly throw it out into the market with no advertising. Smart move.

you can't be serious. Wii music????? have you seen the ad? omg. just get Guitar hero with better graphics and better gameplay. I'm quite suprised that the PS2 version of Guitar Hero World Tour didn't sell more than the Wii version. It will by Christmas time.

While Wii music isn't having amazing sales, it will be a million seller but not enough for a sequal. Nothing wrong with Nintendogs or Brain Training if you aren't anti casual.

Ha- I feel sorry for all those people that bought Wii music. The DS Top 10 is the crappiest list of the lot... sooooo casual.

U gotta be kidding me ! There was an article last week saying that wii music sales were really low ! - I hope they'll stop selling that game - otherwise that will just encourage nintendo on doing similar games.
