Aussie game charts: March 9-15

Resident Evil 5 rallies fan support to claim the top two sales spots down under.

It's not too surprising to see that Resident Evil 5, one of the year's biggest games, debuted at number one in the Australian charts last week. The PlayStation 3 version of RE5 took the lead, according to data trackers GfK Australia. Just below it sits the Xbox 360 version.

The Wii Play bundle, which comes packed with a Wii Remote, returned to the top 10, claiming the third place for the week of March 9-15. Not too far behind was Wii Fit, which took out the fourth spot. Two-time chart topper Halo Wars fell significantly from the previous set of charts, landing in fifth position. Following the Halo Wars trend, Killzone 2 also fell several places, stopping at number six. Mario Kart Wii can be found in seventh place, whereas its DS cousin, Mario Kart DS, narrowly made it in at number 10. Guitar Hero World Tour remains in the lower half of the top 10, in eighth place. Seasoned chart veteran Dr Kawashima's Brain Training: How Old Is Your Brain returned to the charts last week, settling in at number nine.

You believe Resident Evil 5 is an example of a 'real' game? It's good to see Halo Wars going good, so far not many non-nintendo games have stayed in the top 10 for a while.

I'm sick of the same Nintendo games being in the charts all the time. SOMETHING FRESH PLEASE!! Preferably RPG's? Don't make me move to a new console Nintendo! - I really don't want to....... Oh who am i kidding, Nintendo for life! :P - but please more RPG's....

none of the PC game titles are great all of them are a load of crap!........good to see some x360 and PS3 titles......Resident evil 5 where are u for the PC????????

Ughh Wii Fit is not a goddamn game, its fitness system for lazy pigs. So stupid i hate it so much.

good to see Australia finally has a good game on a good console in first

RE5 is a great game, awesome, I simply love it. Shame capcom is charging for its Multiplayer DLC

It's nice to see games like Resident Evil 5 selling well compared to the average Wii games lately.

Good to see REAL games in the top positions for a change.

@Mozillla - Worse. 80% of Wii owners are non-gamers and they dont buy games like Resi 5.

lol @ Inconnux... sure buddy! There are still six of the top 10 games belonging to Wii/DS. Disappointing...

i wonder how well Re5 would sale on the wii compare to 360 and ps3

The PS3 version only sold more because there is a FAR greater choice to choose from with the 360...

wow, cant believe people r STILL buying mario kart ds, every DS owner should have this by now. good to see its still selling though. way to go RE 5, ive been playing my PS3 version non stop, i love it so far.

Wonder if Resident Evil 5 will debut strongly and go off the charts immediately next week like Empire:Total War did

Interesting, once again the PS3 version of a multiplat sells more here (even with a smaller userbase). Besides the big releases, the charts are returning to the usual first party Wii and DS game domination.

Yeah i payed 60$ for my copy of RE5, then they wanna charge me another 5 for online!? I call BS capcom!
