Aussie game charts: June 4-June 10

Mario charges his way back onto the charts down under.

Mario Strikers: Charged Football scored a goal on debut down under, landing the top spot in the Australian game charts last week, according to data trackers GfK Australia.

In fact, the week of June 4 to June 10 proved to be a strong one for Nintendo, with the company taking out six of the top 10 overall spots--five of which are for Nintendo DS titles. In the other charts, World of Warcraft has reclaimed the top of the PC-specific list, knocking previous platform-topper Command and Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars to number five. On the Xbox 360 front, Gears of War climbed up two spots to grab the number two position.

wow, australia is filled to the brim with casuals. have fun playing horsez and catz, lol. i feel bad for the hardcore gamers over there though, this chart is embarrassing.

@guimontag Which part of Australia u from? Console game outsold PC game here on weekly basis. The top ten games are all PS2 and DS.

yer Australia hasnt got a large gaming community, lol i dont think i know any1 that has upgraded to a ps3/360/wii. Pc games are much more popular over here than consoles

But even if the list isn't exactly proper guys, isn't it all about having fun in the end? :P We Aussies have fun playing anything :) I think - perhaps, that is better than knowing what's so-called good and bad.

Well, well, well, look at those charts, only ps2, ds, andone wii game, i want to see those that says "Yes, this is the beggining of the end for nintendo" when the chart has like 3 ps3, and now not even one, huh!.

comn on, u guys take games too seriouse. it's just for fun. who cares its lame or not, if it can actually bring some fun?!!

OMG why post this "news" GS AU? No one will take us seriously anymore :( Developers might start only sending casualised games our way. I think I may have to move country :p

What a weak chart.. x.x Crappy games too cept for a minor few.

Strikers is easily the stand out, it will be thankfully joined by Forza next week and possible a few other new games. We will be getting alot of good games here in July so hopefully those casual games disappear from the chart which never happens with our casual dominated market.

nah, seems to be that casual gamers and apparently kids are the large portion of gamers on that continent

That top 10 is I believe the worst i've ever had the misfortune to see. And I come from the UK, so trust me i've seen many rubbish charts over the years.

That list, with the exception of Strikers is an embarrassment to Australia. Seriously, I cannot believe how bad that list is, its an absolute abomination.

Yes...I'm ashamed to call myself an aussie gamer after seeing that list! ;p

not one single top 10 DS game is even close to decent, correct if I'm wrong, seems Australia is lacking real gamers..

There is some good games in here, but a lot of them got bad ratings. I think that this isn't the real top 10 list. That's just my opinion.

no hardcore gamers at all in aussie, all the top 10 in aussie are crap. Seriosuly, shrek and pirates, all games based off movies have been terrible and they think its worthy of being the best.

Great I have Mario Strikers Charged Football, But why am I STILL waiting for one of the great GBA games that is so far out in US and comming to Europe this month, Final Fantsy 6 Advance. I really want it NOW!!!!!! Also I can't wait for Mario Party 8 next month to see if they have made extra effort with the Wii-mote, also Super Paper Mario comming later in the year looks amzing, shame that we have to wait for so long for it to translate into PAL.

I want Mario strikers bad, last exam tomorrow will get it after

Apart from Mario Strikers (got it and loving it!) the top 10 list is pretty poor.

go strikers WOOT!!! Getting that amazing game when it come out in NA. Can't wait for it.

3 Quiz games, 2 poor film based titles, Horsez, Catz, Petz Hotel.... screams awful to me. If it wasn't for the passable Mario Strikers it would be a complete write off. Barely a proper game amongst them, where are the God/Gears/Guitar Hero's, all this says is there are too many kids getting way too much pocket money. The only way it could have been worse would have been to see a Sims expansion pack in there.

Ull see brothers in arms ds on the charts next week.....Oh and why do u say that TTdog?

go Mario Strikers, first online-multiplayer Wii game.

That has to be the WORST top ten games chart I have ever seen.

Might get strikers when it comes out here in the US.
