Aussie game charts: June 15-21

The Sims 3 spends another week at the top of the charts down under.

People like The Sims 3 a lot. So much so that The Sims 3 has spent its third week at the top of the overall Australian game charts, according to data trackers GfK Australia.

Wii Fit remains in the second spot, for the week of June 15-21. PlayStation 3-exclusive Infamous has overtaken its main competitor Prototype to reclaim the third spot. Wii Play, which comes bundled with a Wii Remote, has moved up one spot from the previous week into the fourth place. EA Sports Active can be found right in the middle in the fifth position. The latest Pokemon game to come out on the Nintendo DS, Pokemon Platinum, took out the sixth spot. In seventh place, we have Prototype for the Xbox 360, with the PlayStation 3 version also making it into the top 10, scrapping in at number nine. Between the two Prototypes is Nintendo's popular arcade racer Mario Kart Wii, which claimed the eighth place. Finally we have Rhythm Heaven in the 10th spot.

Did I actually say they were better? No I did not. I just said "at least Nintendo seems to be doing well here" for once, in reference to the comment below mine.

"Blargh, people still love the lacklusture and shallow The Sims 3. Oh well. At least Nintendo seems to be doing really well here." Yeah, because people loving the lacklustre and shallow WiiFit and WiiPlay is so much better.

6/10 are for Nintendo systems... so much for the argument that Nintendo is only strong in hardware sales.

*Places ear to angry System Wars mob* - Ohh I'm sorry! What was that? PC Gaming is dead? Pardon me? All shall bow down to the platform that will never die! Long live PC Exclusives! And all hail to The Sims!
