Aussie game charts: June 1-7

The Sims 3 goes gangbusters during its first week of sales.

As much as Aussies love to buy fitness games, the fitness genre couldn't stand up to the highly anticipated release of The Sims 3 last week. The game managed to sell enough units in the few days it spent on sale during the previous reporting period, earning the number one spot down under, according to data trackers GfK Australia.

Wii Fit still had an impressive showing, taking out second place for the week of June 1-7. PlayStation 3 exclusive Infamous also left a good first impression, coming in at number three. Wii Play, which comes bundled with a Wii Remote, remains unchanged from the previous week, sitting it out in the fourth spot. EA Sport's Active for the Wii dropped down to the fifth position, just above Pokemon Platinum at number six. The other big game to come out last week was Red Faction Guerrilla, which snagged the seventh place on the Xbox 360. Strangely, the PS3 version failed to make it into the top 10. Nintendo DS favorite Dr Kawashima's Brain Training: How Old Is Your Brain? makes a return to the overall charts, sitting in eighth spot. UFC 2009 Undisputed continues to drop, with the PS3 version making it in at number nine. Finally we have Mario Kart Wii, which clawed its way into the 10th place.

PC gets a number 1!!! Don't see that very often. But I ask again - Nintendo where are the RPG's for the Wii?!?! - Zelda in 2010 is great though. That's all I'm really waiting on :)

Hopefully The Sims Gets out of that list before too long

Red Faction didn't do so well, hopefully Prototype has a solid start like InFamous.
