Aussie game charts: July 22-July 29

Mario Party 8 claims the top spot.

Mario Party 8 has taken out the top spot in the Australian game charts according to data trackers GfK. It has managed to climb up from fourth position the previous week.

Following up from their successful chart cleanup last week, Nintendo has again taken out over half of the top 10 spots for the week of July 22-29. Pokémon Diamond and Pokémon Pearl for the Nintendo DS have been reunited in the overall charts once more, with Diamond in fifth spot and Pearl in eighth. The three remaining spots that weren't on a Nintendo platform were taken by PlayStation 2 games, the SingStar Pop Hits bundle being the highest at number two.

In other charts news, World of Warcraft has again made it to number one on the PC charts, followed up in second position by World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade. Oddly enough, the first seven games in the Wii charts remain unmoved from the previous week.

I love Mario Party 8 but I am mad by the no online...At least there will be online on the Mario Party DS

to be honest I have never heard of some of them.

All of those games in the top ten are horrible...

2 Wii games? This is terrible news! Just when Aussie was rejecting the Wii they bring it back in? Why? I was hoping for a few more PS3 games up there.

I love Mario Party 8... why do people hate it?!

EB game sales is the reason for some older games doing well.

Bah, Nintendo will continue doing the same crap every year with Mario Party as long as people buy it. It hasn't changed since the first game.

lol look at PC All I see is sims

Gears of War is still selling hard core in Australia? Cool. I'd rather go for some Forza 2 but hey..
