Aussie game charts: January 8-14

Lost Planet has put the freeze on its opposition, snaring the title of best-selling game in Australia in its debut week.

Figures for the week of January 8 to 14 show that Capcom's icy shooter for the Xbox 360 claimed the number one position in the overall game sales charts, according to industry trackers GfK Australia. Last week's number one--EA's Cricket 07 for the PS2--fell significantly to land in seventh spot. Lost Planet wasn't the only 360 title in the top 10, however--Gears of War continued its strong run in the charts by landing at ninth spot this week.

After a week with no top-10 representation, the Wii bounced back strongly, with The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess claiming the number two position. The DS also had a sole top-10 representative this week--Nintendogs: Dalmatian and Friends. PC gamers pushed The Sims 2: Pets into fifth position, while World of Warcraft claimed 10th spot.
