Aussie game charts: January 25-31

EA's Mass Effect 2 debuts at number one, while Nintendo continues to hold onto the majority of the top 10.

Mass Effect 2 for the Xbox 360 has become the first non-Nintendo Wii title in 2010 to take the top spot in the Aussie charts, according to data trackers GfK Australia. The PC version of Mass Effect also sold reasonably well, taking out the ninth spot.

The rest of the top 10 were mostly made up of Wii games, including Cricket, which made a return to the charts in seventh place, and Just Dance, which fell to number 10. The PlayStation 3 version of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 continues to beat its Xbox 360 cousin (which didn’t even make it into the top 10), falling down into number eight.

Still waiting to steam ME2 - gotta finish DA:O first.

Can't wait to get Mass Effect 2!! Gotta finish Dragon age origins first though!! HAHA - SO many great games for the PC this year. I'll have to buckle down a bit so I can have Mass Effect 2 polished off before Fallout New Vegas comes out!! :P

@shadow_571: Mass Effect 1&2 are both on PC as well you fiend!

You do realise that its almost identical to the US top 10?

this country has bad taste in games i must say. a lot of that top 10 list is really really bad.

Definite given that Mass Effect 2 was going to dominate this week... LOL @ Wii and top 5 spots all taken up by the 1st Party games.

I first heard of Just Dance back in late November when i was in target, a woman was there with her child and asking for the game and they said the game was sold out, so word of mouth was already out for the game before it hit the charts.

The cricket game on Wii sucks. Ashes 09 on PS3/X360 is way better.

Seriously, how is "Just Dance" making the charts!?

Nice to see ME2 doing well, good to see it take out the overhyped subpar console port shooter on the PC charts... Once again Nintendo shows that it is the #1 hardware AND software company.

Yep, the ol' Mass Effect is a good game. lol, MW2 is still number 2 on the PC Charts. Boycotters declared MIA.

Hell yeah! xD Go Mass Effect 2!
