Australians sure love their karaoke!

SingStar R&B has taken out the top spot in the overall Australian game charts, according to data trackers GfK Australia.

The Simpsons Game on the Nintendo DS has reentered the charts at number two for the week of December 31-January 6. Buzz! The Hollywood Quiz sat at number three, while SingStar Pop Hits tailed it at number four. Last week's chart topper--Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games--fell six places to number seven. Yet another SingStar game--SingStar Rocks!--appeared in the charts, finishing off the week at number 10.

In other charts news, Assassin's Creed continues to sell well on the PlayStation 3, taking out the top spot in the platform-specific chart. However, it only made it to number three on Xbox 360 chart.

what a disgrace, that ps2 top 10 is atrocious

3 Singstars, Buzz and 2 Movie Games. Sad, isn't it.

zomg no ps3 or 360 games in the top 10 and ps2 is dominated by buzz and singstar, when will us Aussies learn.

. . . Well this is rather sad what on earth is so appealing about Singstar?! Whyyyyyy?? This whole thing is depressing... :(

No Orange Box in sight? What the hell?

That's like really scary, all those games and its a stupid singing game that grabs the highlight.. Did someone down at Kmart buy all 2 copies?

Yet another week to feel depressed to be an Aussie gamer.

Mario and Sonic is a great game. I told you guys that last weeks weren't bad, now you can see they are horrible this week.

Singstar? Singstar? Singstar?! Mario and Sonic Abysmal Games?!!? WTF. At least the UK's chart was predictably depressing, this is just ludicrous. WTF is wrong with your mass market moron today?

Casual mass market appeal FTL

hahaha kayne & lynch is on the ps3/360 charts again. i guess some people just see the shiny posters and think it must be brilliant.. seems people still like playstation 2 games.. i think its also a bit sad to see 'super mario galaxy' under 'mario and sonic at the olympics'.
