This week sees a rather strange first-person shooter called Xotic find its way onto Xbox Live Arcade. The weapons and worlds are more colourful than a pack of Crayons, with the focus more on scoring points and building combos than on kills. Not strange enough? How about wielding a gun that looks like a fly, complete with creepy eyes and wings? While the levels are small, the game is points-driven and designed to be replayed for high scores.

Over on the PlayStation Network Store, the only new game is Hasbro Family Game Night 3. This is a family-friendly compilation that contains virtual versions of The Game of Life, Clue, Twister, Mouse Trap, and Yahtzee Hands Down. Call of Duty: Black Ops makes a surprise appearance as a downloadable PlayStation 3 game, over 12 months after its initial release. While it doesn't say how big the file is to download, those with a low download quota should exercise caution--it's likely to be quite a few gigabytes in size. It's not the only first-person shooter to hit the PSN this week, with 2009's Western shooter Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood joining the stable.

As for Nintendo's digital storefront, WiiWare got a much-needed boost to its library after several quiet weeks. Jam City Rollergirls takes one of the world's fastest-growing female sports, and gives it the video-game treatment. Just like the real sport, the game doesn't take itself too seriously, and it contains power-ups to help you blast your Lead Jammer around the circuit.

If Nintendo fans are after something with a bit more nostalgic value, then Kirby's Adventure on the 3DS Virtual Console should tick that box. The original game was released back in 1992 and is the second outing for the lovable pink ball. While Kirby's Adventure hasn't been reworked for widescreen displays, like other 3DS Virtual Console titles, it has still been given the full 3D makeover that you'd expect.
