Like many casual games that have found mainstream success, Plants vs. Zombies has spread its roots over a variety of different platforms and this week infects the PlayStation 3. Similar to most tower defense games, the premise here is really simple: You place plants in various boxes on the map and fend off waves of zombies. There's dozens of different plants to unlock and plenty of different zombie types to keep you thinking about how to best fortify your home. If you're keen on grabbing Plants vs. Zombies from the PlayStation Network Store, you can download a demo of it for free or shell out A$23.95 for the full version.

Double Fine Production's latest game--Stacking--was also released this week but for both Xbox Live Arcade and the PlayStation Network. Revolving around a world populated by matryoshka dolls, Stacking sees protagonist Charlie Blackmore attempt to reunite himself with his family members after they are forced into labor. There's a mechanic that revolves around the dolls, which sees players commandeer other bodies, using each doll's unique abilities to solve puzzles. Stacking is available for 1,200 Microsoft points on Xbox Live Arcade or A$17.95 on the PlayStation Network Store.

The only game to come out across Nintendo's three digital download services is Hip Hop King: Rytmik Edition for DSiWare. This isn't so much of a game, as it is music compiling software--think along the lines of Rockstar Games' Beaterator. Hip Hop King: Rytmik Edition is currently going for 800 Nintendo points.
