Fruit Ninja is one of the most recognisable games to come out of an Australian developer in recent years, and this week it makes the jump from smartphones to home consoles with Fruit Ninja Kinect for Xbox Live Arcade. On the off chance that you're not familiar with the fruit-destroying phenomenon, Fruit Ninja is a simple game that has you waving your arms around and slicing fruit in half. The Xbox 360 port includes all of the modes that the iPhone version has, including a two-player battle mode.

If your inner ninja would rather target terrorists, then Sam Fisher is your man, as he stealthily infiltrates the PlayStation Network Store with the Splinter Cell trilogy HD remix. As with most of the recent HD remixes, these are the exact same Splinter Cell games that you played all those years ago, except that the graphics have been upscaled to high-definition and they now support stereoscopic 3D.

On top of the Splinter Cell HD remix, Sony launched its PSN Play program this week. Four games will be released over a month, with each offering its own unique preorder incentive. If you buy all four games, you'll then be eligible to receive a free copy of Payday: The Heist when it's released.

As usual, it's fairly quiet across Nintendo's various digital distribution platforms, with just a single release--Avenging Spirit for Virtual console on the 3DS. Originally released in '91, Avenging Spirit is a side-scrolling shooter that sees the player rescue his girlfriend and avenge his own murder. The twist is that you're actually a ghost and you possess the bodies of enemies in order to complete your mission.
