Assassin's Creed--the preorder pack.

Ubisoft in Australia has confirmed that preorders for their upcoming action adventure game Assassin's Creed will begin this October, with all gamers who preorder receiving a limited-edition pack of the game.

The preorder pack will come in a collectible metal display box which features a numbered authenticity hologram. As well as the game, the pack will come with a bonus DVD which includes wallpapers, screensavers, Assassin's Creed videos, and "The Artefact"--a PC application which grants VIP access to exclusive information and content. An Assassin's Creed comic book will also be included.

Prices for the pack, however, will vary depending on which platform gamers decide to purchase for. PS3 owners will have to pay the most at A$119.95, Xbox 360 owners get the next most expensive at A$109.95, while PC owners get it for A$89.95.

Assassin's Creed will be released in Australia in November this year.

It's nice that Australia get some exclusive stuff for once. Good for them =D

I don't really get what you're complaining about, most X Box 360 games are like $100 Aussie dollars, so this is an increase of like 10 bucks. Actually I paid $110 for GoW, which seems to be a trend for good games

wow sucks to live in Australia and be an Assassin's creed fan. im pre-ordering the limited edition this weekend and installing a new shelf in my room to display all the extra stuff yay for limited editions!

"grdwalker im pretty sure when they say australia they mean all pal territories, so yea id assume the UK is included. im in NZ so i definately be preordering." Mmm... I doubt it. I just preordered the PC version for £27, that's including VAT and P&P. That's around 65 AUD. There was no mention about getting any extra stuff though, so I'm not sure what it's about. If it runs on my PC though, I'll be ecstatic B)

isn't the point of a preorder bonus that it gives you insentive to buy the game by giving you (free) extra stuff, not doubling the price of the game for some swag? I mean, just look at the castlevania portrait of ruin preorder pack! in conclusion RIPOFF, ill just buy the game thank you

The price is high cuz they import from us Those are pretty bad price hikes too If you go anywhere liek china or japan or Singapore, the prices on stuff that comes from American companies is insane Liek one PC game was liek 99 Singapore dollars but the American price was 40 USD The price raise is about 20 bucks more i think so that is liek a 80 something price for a game we get for 60???? Thats pretty bad Good thing I live in US hehe And I also need to go preorder my copy for the 360 Wonder how much it is riite now...

I really don't get the deal with high/over priced games. Especially ones that are multi platform. It seems that PS3 exclusives are the only ones that hold a reasonable price. There's not even enhanced PS3/360 versions over the PC, it's exactly the same on each format. The cost of Blu-Ray mass production may be a little higher but I still fail to see the justification in the prices selected. I do like these 'collectable' editions but I doubt I'll go there this time round.

I don't care if it's on Xbox 360 or PS3, i just want the bloody game. It look's like you can do some great stuff.

Jacob... (not starting anything ether) but i think the controlles will be easyer and the power will help dramatically, the visuals are arguably simular to 360s so id agree and thanks grd you cleared that up for me (whats new zeland like? ive only seen it in LOTR :D)

Market size is one of the main reasons that we get overcharged. It's no excuse, but certainly contributes. 1%of the US population is about 3 million people, while 1% of the Aussie population is around 200,000 people. So if 1% of the US population buy it, they'll make more than if 1% of us buy it. It's not worth $40 bucks difference, but it's a big issue.

ooo the temptation to pre-order on amazon instead and import it.

$110 is actually pretty standard for new release games here even standard editions of them. And yes that is unfair is equals around $85US and makes it cheaper to actually import a single game from America even with taxes and delevery. Even when you look at the game consoles the difference is insane. There's a $120US price hike for the Elite over here.

How much is that in American dollars? The pack seems pretty cool. But $110 is wayyyyy overpriced. Though I don't know how things are in Australia.

that's just wrong - one AUD is about 80 cents. Still way over priced. About $72 USD for the PC version - no thanks

We get screwed over here in australia - our exchange rate against the US dollar hasn't been this good in many years. Currently that puts an Australian delivery of AC for the xbox360 (what i have currently) at $86 US. Its crazy, theres been reports for many things, not just games, that it is cheaper to import and pay the tarrifs for one individual item!

Wow! Those prices are bananas! How much is that exactly in US dollars?

The game looked amazing at E3 2007, but I think there's a lot of hype around it, and I mean a lot. The storyline looks vague so far. This is just a scheme in part by Ubisoft to trash the PS3. In Australia, the PS3 is the fastest and most sold console... look at the price of the pre-order pack, they want to push XBOX 360. The PC version is priced that way because of laws limitating the cost of pre-ordered software products in Australia.

I've been a little skeptical about this game. Probably because I never enjoyed the Hitman series all that much.

1 US dollar = about 1.27 Australian dollars meaning (for Americans) Australian PS3 buyers will be spending about $95 (USD), XBox 360 buyers will spending about $85 (USD) and PC buyer will be spending about $70 (USD). Standard or not, that's still a sizable difference in price. My sympathies, Aussies. :3

Americans who have commented here should realise that these prices are actually fairly standard in Australia.

If I were to pay $100 for a LE Assassin's Creed it better come with a collector's knife. Besides, any special features video will probably be available on YouTube, so save your money.

mskittykat

WHAT?! Damn all that! Give me the game and I'm good. I've been tracking this game since the making, but for the extra's I'll wait a bit later and hit up Ebay or something. That's $100 for a single game with a few additives. Not worth it IMO. :(

Hologram...I bet the pre-order pack for Assassin 's Creed and Legendary Edition Halo 3 are both going to sell out and go sky high on eBay.Can't wait for the game,I bet it's going to be second to Halo 3,or maybe even at its level...other than the fact that there is no online or multiplayer.

Quote: "L_i_o_n oo i just love my pc, everything is so cheap and powerful.. ...in your face console owners" Errr, from when a PC is cheap?? I mean, I paid mine 1.5k$ a year ago and I already have to change my graphic card if I wanna play the latest games at maximum settings (and upgrade my RAM too). I'm tired of this so personnally, I won't ever put money on a PC "just" for gaming. Instead, I'll buy a console at 500$ that's play my games for 6-10 years... The only good points of PCs is that you can play the game you want without paying, but is this really a good point? I mean, if the sales are not that good on PC, they'll take a lot less time to polish the PC version... (unless the internet play is really important, like for C&C3 or starcraft). Anyway, consoles are the best in my opinion since they are way cheaper, and mostly because when you buy a game, it's SURE to run at maximum capacity without any lag since the devs made the game to fit perfectly YOUR machine (the console you're playing on)...
