Capcom's action role-playing game Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate is being released exclusively for the Wii U and 3DS this week. The game is an expanded version of Monster Hunter 3, with new features such as local multiplayer, revised high definition graphics, and the ability to import game progress to the 3DS.
Nintendo Australia announced in February that the game is receiving limited edition treatment in the form of Wii U and 3DS bundles.
The Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate Premium Pack includes a 32GB Wii U console, a black Wii U Pro Controller, and a copy of Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate. For 3DS owners, the Nintendo 3DS XL Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate Limited Edition Pack is available and includes a new black-coloured Nintendo 3DS XL, which comes preinstalled with Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate.
Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate will support cross-platform multiplayer over the internet or via a local Wi-Fi connection. Players who own the 3DS and Wii U will be able to transfer their saved files between both systems, allowing them to take their game on the road with the 3DS, and then pick up where they left off on the Wii U when they get home.
Gears of War: Judgment will also be released this week exclusively for the Xbox 360. Developed by Epic Games in conjunction with Bulletstorm studio People Can Fly, the project focuses on series soldier Damon Baird. The game is the first entry into the series since 2011's Gears of War 3.
Players will also be able to purchase a Gears of War: Judgment VIP Season Pass to receive an exclusive double XP boost for multiplayer. The Season Pass includes six multiplayer maps, two new game modes, and nine unlocks. Players who buy the pass will receive early access to multiplayer maps, and also five weapon skins and four armour skins.
Other games out this week include Need for Speed: Most Wanted on the Wii U, the PC port of Resident Evil 6, and The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct. For more details, check out the full list of new releases below.
