Though Harmonix's Rock Band 2 is still not available for sale in Australia, music game fans will be pleased to hear that the company's The Beatles: Rock Band will be released here on the same day as it is in the rest of the world. The Beatles: Rock Band features 45 tracks spanning the band's entire career and re-creates some of their most iconic performances, like their American TV debut on the Ed Sullivan show. The Beatles: Rock Band launches on September 9 on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Wii. It should be noted that the full instrument kits will be available only at GAME, JB Hi-Fi, Dick Smith, and Gamesmen stores.

With the Aussie footy heading into finals, AFL Challenge and Rugby League Challenge are on the verge of release and ready to give you your dose of footy action. Developed by the Melbourne-based Wicked Witch Software, the two Challenge games are exclusive to the PSP. This marks the first time that an NRL and AFL game has appeared on Sony's portable console. Interestingly, Sony is giving away copies of the game to anyone who buys a PSP from September 10, while stocks last.

Other games worthy of mention this week include Atari’s superhero-themed massively multiplayer online game Champions Online and the Fallout 3: Quest Pack 2 bundle, which contains the Point Lookout and Broken Steel expansions.
