AU Shippin' Out September 22-26: Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway

Relive history's largest airborne assault thanks to Ubisoft.

Ubisoft is heading back down range this week with Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway. Set during Operation: Market Garden in WWII, you get into the jump boots of Staff-Sergeant Matt Baker as he leads his squad into Europe and end up defending a small stretch of land in the Netherlands called Hell's Highway. Like previous games in the series, BIA:HH is a tactical shooter and you're given command of two teams which you can use to suppress enemies on one front while manoeuvring around to flank them. Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway comes out this Thursday on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, with PC version pushed back until October 9.

Wii owners will also be getting some WWII action with Brothers in Arms: Double Time; a combination of the previous games--BIA: Road to Hill 30 and BIA: Earned in Blood--both of which are appearing on the Wii for the first time.

While Hell's Highway is aimed at a much more mature audience, those looking for a less violent experience may find Viva Pinata: Pocket Paradise more to their taste. Like its console cousin, VP:PP has you cultivate a garden for your pinatas to grow and flourish with the goal of attracting bigger and better candy creatures. There are seven new pinatas for you to unlock and a new game mode called Playground, which is essentially a free mode where you can do things in your own time without worrying about failing the challenges. Expect to see Viva Pinata: Pocket Paradise in stores this Thursday.

Sonic's long awaited RPG debut is on the verge of release. Developed by Bioware, Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Chronicles takes place while the blue hedgehog is on holidays after having taken out Dr. Robotnik. It's here he discovers that Chaos Emeralds are disappearing and that Knuckles has been taken hostage. The game takes place across two acts with the first focusing on saving the master emerald and the second on travelling to a different dimension to save his world. Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood is due out on Thursday.

Reply to comment by imprezawrx500:The delayed relese has nothing to do with popularity. The only reason behind the delay is that the PC games tend to get pirated and even people with consoles would prefer the pirated version if they own a PC.So they first launch it on the console so that the people with console by it and then after the console sales have cooled they launch it for the PC for earning some extra sales which is dwarfed thanks to piracy compared to the sales they get from the consoles.

"Can some one tell me why is the PC version pushed back until 9 October?....." because its ubisoft who don't like releasing the game on pc at the same time. Good way to loose lots of money ubi, once vegas 2 came out on pc I had completly lost interest in it. Ubi has the theory that since console are more popular in usa they should put all the money into them while in europe pc gaming is more popular and europe is a much bigger market.

"...a small stretch of land along Denmark..."...what game were they playing?

Why does Gamespot always screw up? It's in Holland (Netherlands), not Denmark. It's not even close to Denmark, it's in the middle of the Netherlands!

PC games take a back seat when developers work on multiplatform titles. This is because they spend most of their time optimizing for the consoles. Porting from 360 to PC (which is most likely) is a lot easier than porting the other direction. Also, developers that are multiplatform make the most money off of the console versions. PC gaming is far less profitable than console gaming. Only huge titles (WoW and Crysis to name a few) make any real money, and rightly so since they are not only exlusive, but in a case like Crysis they take advantage of your new hardware. Those types of games are pretty rare (be honest, it's true) so it's most likely that they will sell many millions of copies since PC gamers are hungry for something new and amazing by that point.
