This week, fighting game fans are sure to be pleased with the release of Tekken Tag Tournament 2 on the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360. The game will feature the largest cast of characters to date, including free DLC characters--Michelle Chang, Angel, Kunimitsu, and Ogre--for those who preordered the game ahead of the launch.
Tekken Tag Tournament 2 also introduces a new Fight Lab mode, which enables players to customise the moves and appearance of new training character, Combot. The character can then be used in unranked online and offline matches.
The game will also launch with a community stat tracker, named World Tekken Federation. Developer Namco Bandai previously announced that the service, which has similar features to Halo's Bungie.net, will be available free of charge.
Just like the previous Tekken Tag Tournament game, TTT2 allows up to four players to each control a single character in pair-play mode for team battle. Additional modes include one-on-one and solo vs. tag-team battles, each with their own fighting game experiences.
For the sports enthusiasts in the crowd, EA Sports' hockey game NHL 13 will be out on PS3 and 360 this week. The game is notable for being the first professional league simulation sports game to introduce female playable characters.
Feeling a little more musical? Beat the Beat: Rhythm Paradise will be sashaying onto the Wii this week. The quirky rhythm game (known as Rhythm Heaven Fever in the US) was praised for its soundtrack, "goofy" art style and variety in our GameSpot review.
