The next-generation console wave continues with this week's Australian release of Sony's PlayStation 4. The console comes with a recommended retail pricing of A$549.
PS4-exclusive games Knack and Killzone: Shadow Fall will be available at retail upon launch. Action 3D platformer Knack sees players take the role of titular character Knack, a creature who has the power to incorporate ice, metal and other matter into his body. This skill grants new abilities as he shifts and changes in each level.
First-person shooter Killzone: Shadow Fall is the sixth entry into the PlayStation-exclusive Killzone series. The game's story picks up where 2011's Killzone 3 left off and takes place in the year 2390.
Game director Steven Ter Heide described the length of the campaign as "well over 10 hours for most gamers". The game's multiplayer mode will also feature dedicated servers.
Retailer Dick Smith will be hosting a PS4 midnight launch event for Aussie gamers wishing to pick up a console once the clock ticks over to November 29. Participants are required to pre-register their attendance at the event and can go into the draw to purchase one of 300 consoles on the night. Additional details, including how to pre-register, are available at the event's Facebook page.
The PlayStation 4 will launch in Australia on November 29. For more details on games out this week, check out the list below.
