The misfits from B Company return this week in Battlefield: Bad Company 2. Thanks to improvements to the Frostbite engine, BBC2 features improved destructibility over the original game, now allowing players to completely level buildings. The single-player campaign will have players travelling the globe from the snowfields of Russia to the jungles of South America as B Company undergoes a series of skirmishes against mercenary forces. In response to Infinity Ward's decision to not support dedicated servers for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, BBC2 dev DICE has included dedicated server support for the PC version of the game. Keep your eyes peeled for Battlefield: Bad Company 2 on the PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3 later this week.

Hardcore simulations used to be a staple of PC gaming, but in the past decade the simulation genre has receded with just a trickle making it to store shelves each year. For 2010, one of those games is Silent Hunter 5: Battle of the Atlantic. The game puts you down periscope in a German type VII U-boat during WWII and marks the first time in the franchise's history that the game can be played in first-person from the captain's perspective. Thankfully, a new beginner's interface has been introduced to ease players into the game without getting seasick. Silent Hunter 5: Battle of the Atlantic is due to dock at Aussie retailers on Thursday.
