AU Shippin' Out August 5-9: Tales of Xillia

The Tales role-playing game series continues with the Western debut of Tales of Xillia on the PS3.

This week sees the latest Tales game make its way to Aussie shores, with the release of Tales of Xillia. Exclusive to the PlayStation 3, the game is the newest entry to the Tales series since 2008's Tales of Vesperia.

Tales of Xillia was a hit in Japan when it was released in 2011, selling more than half a million copies in its first week. The game went on to sell more than 760,000 copies by the end of the year.

Set in Rieze Maxia, Tales of Xillia sees humans and monsters live together with spirits. Players will be able to play as Jude Mathis, a medical student who defends himself with his fists. Alternatively, Milla Maxwell, a mysterious female who has to recover her lost ability to summon spirits, is also a playable choice.

The game features the Double Raid Linear Motion battle system, which has two characters teaming up for coordinated attacks and pulling off powerful special moves called Link Artes.

A sequel, Tales of Xillia 2, was released in Japan in November 2012. Publisher Namco Bandai has confirmed that a European and North American release is scheduled for 2014.

its a shame Xilia was never available for preorder on the NA psn store despite it being on the EU store for over a month. Since my ps3 stopped reading game disks recently, i'm stuck with the digital version. It sucks i will have to pay the full $60 with nothing extra added. :(

About time! I've been craving a good RPG to sink some time into lately.

So glad where seeing more of the Tales series getting a western release. Graces f was great so hopefully this should be even better :D

Cant wait : ) also tales of graces f was nice too if anyone decides to try it. I read so many bad reviews about the english compared to the japanese voices and it wasnt all that bad. I enjoyed the game and it has one of the best combat systems I have ever played. Hopefully tales of xillia has a similar battle system or one that is just as good.
